Punch with all your weight and swing as hard and full and solid as you can with the right distance, the right time, the right area, and the right speed. Punching is like throwing a ball, execpt the ball that you are throwing is actually your fist. In order to throw a ball far you have to throw it properly. Same goes in punching. Practice punching using all your muscles; muscles from your wrist, forearm, biceps, triceps, shoulder deltoids, lats back, neck, hips and legs when you throw a punch. Make sure the whole fist lands flush without slipping or crooked pivots and turns. The easiest place to knockout someone is around the jaw line and temple. The liver body shot which is located at the right side of the body is also a knockout punch.

Don't worry about the KO punch Dude, just let your hands go. Some guys never have KO power and never will. But if you throw arm punches you will never KO anyone, so learn how to throw a power shot by using your legs and twisting into your punch. As already advised the chin, jaw line, temple are all good targets. Do not forget to throw a left hook to the liver now and then.

Timing is the most essential element of a KO punch. No matter how hard you hit, if you don't connect at the right moment you wouldn't score a knockout. Good timing gives you a solid hit, which almost always result in a knockdown. Look at Ali, he didn't hit that hard but he KO'd a lot of guys because of the precision and timing of his shots. In the 2nd Liston fight, his right cross lead that put down Sonny seemed more of a flicker jab but slow-mo footage will reveal that it hit Liston flush on the jaw. Of course, it's obvious that Sonny took a dive in that one, but the knockdown, I guess, was pretty legit.

The art of a good punch is generated from the legs first. Do not JUMP litterally, but have a little crouch and lunge up into the shot. With your midsection twist (what they refer to as your core muscles) and use the shoulders to twist also. Practice like that a while, you will find, with your fist ******, you could almost KO someone with no arm extention or movement at all. Once you feel like you have it down well enough then start hitting a target (punching bag, person, whatever) in combination with the lunge/twist. Hit the jaw to snap the head, the temple shots are very painful, that can hurt for over a week, up angle shot to the nose, throat shots, and always the gut shot. Those are the most crippling face to face shots and will win you a fight fast. Keep this in mind too, if I am going to hit your nose, I actually aim for the back of your head... your nose is only in the way, I try to blast through it. If I hit your left jaw side, I am aiming for the right side, if I upper cut in your guts, I want my fist to rip through your mouth... you get the idea. That little thought will make your punches alot more powerful. DO NOT JAB IN A STREET FIGHT!!! You'll just get rushed and then it is MMA style and if you can't wrestle you are kind of screwed. Crush their spirits in the first minute and they will quit. Smash a nose, break teeth, draw blood... most people will back down like a coward. Practice you angles, work on "explosive" power, And try to learn 3 to 5 puch combos. If your first shot stuns them, they are open for SEVERAL more. Do not look for the 1 punch KO. Stun then KO, when they fall jump on top and mess them up. But be nice, when you learn, ONLY use it in defense, never pick fights because it'll hurt people and you will become what you want to defend yourself against... a bully. Plus, bullies always get what they have coming. Good luck :)
