Oh my gosh.... there is SO much misinformation out there.

The truth is, it is NOT harmful if you take any supplement on an empty stomach (unless it would be harmful with food anyway... but that's more of a bad reaction to the product in general).
You CAN get an upset stomach if it says to take with food and you don't, or you could have reduced effectiveness if it says to take with food and you don't.

If a bottle says to take with food, take it with food (for good reasons). If it says take with water, then you can take it with or without food. If it says take on an empty stomach, then don't eat for 2 hours before or 30 minutes after you take it (for good reasons).

When I first started working here, I didn't believe that it was really as strict as the bottles said, so I took my first dose of a multivitamin that said "take with food" on an empty stomach.... and I felt like I was going to puke for the next 4-5 hours. Ever since then, I've been reading the labels carefully and making sure I followed them.

Oh, and with all that aside.... if you are fasting, you aren't supposed to take ANYTHING other than water/juice. Taking vitamins goes against the point of a fast, really.

Not harmful, but not as useful. Some fat soluable vitamins, such as A an K, require sufficient dietary fat for absorption.

Oral vitamins do make some people feel nauseated if taken on an empty stomach. If this isn't a problem for you, then you of course are gaining greater benefit taking them on an empty stomach that not taking them at all.

Well like E, D, A all should be taken only in amounts that are safe. E will thin your blood. I know many that take a multivitamin and get sick. If I take a B50 (multple B) or a good multivitamin I get an uupset stomach. I think this is due to the mixing with the acid in your stomach, thus the directions state "taken with a meal'. It will not harm, you you need to check out the maximum dailey dosages.

If you are worried that the vitamin you take is not as good as they state, then check out Nature's Plus. One of the few that have an independant lab check for potency.
I also suggest you scope out the minerals like iron. Also check out www.oldsouthwinery.com they have this stuff that cures most cancers. Take care.

The one-a-day type multi-vitamins should not be harmful, because all the vitamins are in minute amounts. People who eat little because of dieting should take multi-vitamins regularly. The small amount of food does not contain enough vitamins.

NO i dont think that it is harmful but it could possibly make you very nauseous. which is obviously uncomfortable. unless they are vitamins that are very important to your health maybe you should skip your vitamins until your fast is over. and then, eat something before you take any vitamins.

I dont think so they arent meant to help you when you may not be getting enough vitamins in your daily diet so if you arent eating then you arent getting your vitamins and vitmin supplemetns should be fine to take and should help your body get what it needs...if you eat to many your pee will turn highlighter yellow. (I know some that ate almost a whole thing of gummi vitamins.)

the challenge is that each and each and every component which comes out of Karl Rove's mouth is a grimy, gruesome, lie. he's proved this repeatedly. So it truly is form of confusing to take something he says very heavily. fat, pink little Karl needs to bypass to federal reformatory for treason contained in the Plame Case. once he's in reformatory, he can say something he likes.
