I just have a few questions about your upbringing. Who taught you about non-Christians going to hell and how much did they stress that belief? Was it everyday they would tell you or you just heard it every time you went to church? How frequently were you taught about non-Christians going to hell?

If that is all you are hearing when you talk to christians then they are not sending the right message. Yes Hell is an important part of christianity it isn't everything, I think the better part of being a christian is the relationship we are privelaged to have with Jesus christ. The church I grew up in made you feel like everything you did you had to be resaved or you would go to Hell. that maybe why so many people today fall away from christianity and the Bible and Jesus. In that church I don't know how many times I was saved. It made it to hard. The focus was on the person, what can I do, what I did, When the truth is that there isn't a thing we can do it was done by Jesus dying on the cross. Yes God has a plan for the non believers and the believers. As much as people do not want to hear it. I assume because it is such a hard scary concept to accept. I mean who wants to hear that if I don't accept Jesus then I go to Hell.
We hear so much just be a good person do good things and you'll be fine, but if that was the case then why did Jesus die on that cross. The fact is we cannot do anything to get to heaven

Naturally there are sermons and lessons on hell at church ~ if there weren't, I'd wonder what they were trying to hide since the Bible teaches us that unbelievers will go to hell. And I wouldn't go to that congregation since they are taking away from the Bible. More than that, there are lots of lessons on love and lessons on the trials and temptations that so many overcame, there is exhortation and sermons on how to fight temptation and that we should love all of mankind like Jesus did.

Those who do not believe Jesus is the Son of God and are not baptized (immersed), those who say they are Christians but don't practice it, those who blaspheme against the Holy Spirit ~ they will all go to hell. I didn't say it, God did and His Word, the Bible, is there for all of us to read and learn from.

And when I compare heaven and hell, why would I want to be in hell where there is nothing but hate and torment when heaven is a place of peace and love and heaven is where Jesus is?

I chose what I wanted and that is to believe and follow Jesus and His laws. Everyone else chooses their own path, not me. If someone goes to hell, that isn't my choice, it is theirs because they rejected God. All they need to do is read the Bible and learn for themselves.

Mostly I learned by studying God's Word. And Christ spoke more about hell than He spoke about heaven. Were you aware of that? There was a reason for it,

"Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. NO man can get into heaven without Him.

God bless!

Jesus warned about Hell more than He talked about Heaven. It's taught in the Bible. There ya go.

We are not taught that non-Christian go to hell, we are taught that those that do evil, against God, do.
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, because their deeds were evil, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds be reproved.
But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. -John 3:19-21.

I'm a Christian who warns Christians that the belief in eternal torment is a false doctrine that perverts the true character of a loving God. The eternal torment doctrine was adopted from pagan beliefs in conjunction with the belief in an immortal soul. Neither of these beliefs can be supported given a thorough study of scripture.

Answer:
Jesus and his apostles.
Of course it's stressed. It's the theme of the gospel.
Read it in the Bible.
How frequent? About as frequent as I read the Bible.

First, the Bible says that anyone who does not ask Christ to be the Savior for their sins is damned, try reading the Bible for more understanding. Second, the Gospel message is one of love not fear of damnation.

When I was a Christian, I was told I was going to go to hell anyways because I didn't "witness" to my parents. So, apparently, my entire family (even though I was baptized, my parents were baptized, etc.) was going to hell because my parents no longer went to church.

One of the thousands of reasons I am no longer a believer...

First, of all , those who don't believe in Jesus are lost souls who need to know the truth. The Bible taught me everything I need to know. I went to church as a child, but they weren't real Bible preaching ones. The one I go to now does preach on Hell, but you need to know what is in the Bible. Since you asked, can I ask you if you know if you're going to Hell or Heaven if you died tonight? Its simple, if you are saved, that is you accepted Jesus, you will go to Heaven, if you reject Him, you will go to Hell.
