Beanbing - some dogs actually like to get dressed up, they love the attention - not all dogs are the same.

I have 5 dachshund at the moment (I do rescue and one just went to his wonderful forever home).

My girl will be a cowgirl, she loves to dress up.
My chocolate dachsie will be a hot dog (not very original, but too cute) - my other two boys and older girl will just have black/orange jester collars with bells, because they don't like to dress up.

No reason to spoil everyone's fun Beanbing, just because your dogs don't enjoy dressing up.
We have AKC and county sponsored Halloween contests for kids and their dogs here, great fun for the kids, dogs, and adults - and it raises money for shelters.

First of all, I wouldn't dress my dog up. Second... she wouldn't let me if I tried! My brother did place a hat on her head once. She had it off in about half a second and went tearing around our backyard with it.

Not that I have a problem with it if it's just for Halloween but I have seen animals being dressed up for exploitation and money making purposes and that is something I definitely do NOT approve of. But if your pup will stand for it and it's only for an hour or two (and not in an uncomfortable costume) then have fun and make sure it's cute!

My Yorkie is going to be dressed like a dog. She will be wearing her silver fur coat with the pale tan collar, mask, and head-covering, along with her pink beaded necklace and purple rhinestone studded collar.

i totally agree with beanbinge.
i mean TOTALLY AGREE! if your dog likes the attention, OK, but come on, they are living things. they cant tell us that they dont like something, so how can we be sure?!?!?
plus, your dog should be your dog, not so you can be like paris hilton and stick your chihuahua in your purse to be cute, or put them in a costume. if you really want to dress them up, i cant stop you, but i am saying, consider if you were your dog, not able to communicate with your family, and being put in an unatural costume, with itchy frills, and a crown, and how you would feel.
DOGS HAVE FEELINGS TOO.

if you have a small male make it a plump pumkin or a giggly ghost and is it's a small female make it a wicked witch or a pretty princess. if it's a big male make it freaky frankenstein or a sweet superhero and if it's a big female make it a devious devil!

Louie will be a Papillon and Sydney will be a Siberian Husky.

Hmm, maybe next year they can switch.
