I'm sorry to hear that. There is no way to tell you when he will die. Bone cancer is very aggressive. It depends on how far it has spread.

prostate cancer that is detected early is easily curable, obviously that is not the case with your friend, if it has metasticized to the bones, that cancer, which is usually slow growing has been around for a long time. Once protate cancer metasticizes it becomes quite aggressive and doesn't usually respond to any kind of treatment. I am sorry that you will lose your friend sooner perhaps than would have been had he not had cancer. But bear this in mind, none of us know when we will die...even if we have a terminal disease. All any of us have is NOW. You could be hit by truck and beat him to the grave, he could have a miraculous recovery and live a long time, there is no way of knowing. So what you need to do is appreciate every single moment you have with your friend, because NOW is all either of you really have, it is all any of us have.

It's depend on how aggressive the type of cancer he has. People may live more than others. If it's metastasized to the bones it'll be very painful and from there it could spread to other organs.
My cousin had nasopharyngeal cancer, very aggressive. He was under treatment for a year and a half/ He died in the summer due to having his body invaded by cancer.

I don't believe your friend had this for 8 yrs and no doctor picked up on it. Just not possible especially since he had x-rays to find the broken bones. If his cancer spread to the bones, the x-rays would have seen that. Either he's been seeing a moron for a doctor or he's not telling you something.

When cancer gets into the bones there is not much that can be done. There is no way of predicting how long he will live, but I'm afraid it will only be a short while.
