Rom 10:9 Because if you confess the Lord Jesus with your mouth, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses unto salvation.

We don't confess anything to "be" a believer, we confess because we "are" believers.

This is the Nicene Creed- the dogma of the Orthodox Christian Church and what I believe all Christians must believe.
I believe in one God, Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all ages,
Light from light, true God from true God, begotten not made, of one essence with the Father, through him all things were made.
Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven, and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and became man,
And was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried,
And rose on the third day according to the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father,
And He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and His kingdom will have no end.
And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, Who proceeds from the Father,
Who together with the Father and the Son, is worshipped and glorified, and Who spoke through the Prophets.
In one Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.
I acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
I expect the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the age to come. Amen.

For starters you must come to an agreement in yourself that you have lived a life that if it was exposed in a court of law, you would not be really proud of. Once you have done that, then the rest is simple, Go before God, and tell him, God if you are real ( I say if cause from your tone I dare say you have your doubts) anyway, God if you are real, I would really like to get to know you. I know I have done things said things, thought things that you would not be proud of, And Lord, I am truly sorry. I ask in the name of Jesus that you forgive me, that you make yourself know to me. I want a clean start.
If you do that in all sincerity, he will do the rest.

I might consider myself a Christian if I did not have to subscribe to all the virgin birth, son of god, rose from the dead stuff.
I BELIEVE in Jesus. From what I have heard and read, he was a great teacher of kindness to our fellow man and if everyone followed his example, the world would be a much better place.

you asked for true christians, and the true christians are the ones who believe in all the messengers of God, not distinguishing between any of the messengers. The true christians are the ones who Believe that ther is no God but one God, who created manking in order to worship him alone (no partners). Who follow his commands.
The jews denied that jesus was a prophet of God and the
deviated christians have raised him to (GOD, God's son)
when god sent jesus (pbuh) to the jews, they were supposed to follow him. when god sent muhammad (pbuh) to mankind
we are supposed to follow him.
Those are the true chrsitians.
*****
But those among them who are well-grounded in knowledge, and the believers, believe in what has been sent down to you (Muhammad SAW) and what was sent down before you, and those who perform AsSalat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and give Zakat and believe in Allah and in the Last Day, it is they to whom We shall give a great reward.
******
Who are the believers: Answer:
The believers are only those who, when God is mentioned, feel a fear in their hearts and when His Verses (this Quran) are recited unto them, they (i.e. the Verses) increase their Faith; and they put their trust in their Lord (Alone);
8:2
Answer to just a kid:
Say: He is Allah, the One and Only;
Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;
He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;
And there is none like unto Him.
by the way, zakat in the above verse means charity.

That Jehovah God is the Almighty and Grand Creator and his son, Jesus Christ sacrificed his life in order that everyone who believes can have everlasting life. But there is more that just believing, it is taking in the accurate knowledge (John 17:3) and acting on that knowledge.
