When people talk about 'them' that's generally not a good sign. But it doesn't automatically make him a racist. After all a racist would not be nice to you or consider you a friend.

I think that most people have a personal preference when it comes to what they look for aesthetically in a relationship. For example some men prefer blonds. Some men prefer larger boobs, some prefer shorter women, some prefer taller women.

This does not mean that these men or boys are bad people for having a preference. In addition you have to consider that the boy in question is only a boy 12-14. Many of his opinions are probably still colored by his parents opinions. It is possible that his parents are a little old fashioned and racist and have told him not to date outside his race for example. But he is too young to have formed his own opinions.

Only time will tell what this boy turns out to be. But for now he is just a boy who seems to be treating you nicely. That has to be better than a racist bastard any day!

yes, a lot of people are suppressed racists. they would hate to think of themselves as being racist but really deep down they are. There are attractive people in every race to single out a race and say you would never date somone from that race, thats racist. That means no Beyonce and no Hale berry, and everyone knows that theyre attractive. To him its just something about all black women thats not attractive, you know what it is. Theyre Black

Just because somebody is not attracted to another individual does not mean they are racist. It's just like eating ice cream. Some people love chocolate but will never eat vanilla just because they are not attracted to the taste.

His words such as: I wouldn't date them, but I would be friends with them. Sounds as though he is being raised in a home by parents who probably are prejudice and maybe a bit racists. People are people not them or those people. However, it sounds as though as he grows he will make his own choices regardless of how he has been raised. I do not think he is a racists, maybe a bit prejudice due to his upbringing.. Hopefully, as he grows he will realize people are people... regardless of their race, culture, etc. God bless****

if he is putting people in a group and labeling people as "them" - based on race, then i would say yes that is pretty racist.
Move on and forget the douche

No, it does not mean that he's a racist. People have their preferences. I know Asian girls that don't like Asian boys, black girls that only like white guys, white guys that only like hispanic girls, etc. People have different quirky tastes.
