Ask if the dentist will use a "mouth prop" this kind of props your mouth open rather like a door stop does!

the appliance used to hold the mouth open is called a rubber dam (sounds nice eh?) but a lot of dentists don't actually use them they prefer to just hold the mouth open with one hand and do the work with the other or the dental assistant might help. if you are at all worried about how they are going to do your procedure then ask them before they anaesthetise you.

When ive had mine filled, and i had braces, they put this plastic peice in your mouth to keep it open. It has places to put your lips, and it stretches your mouth open and keeps it there... It kind of looks like this ( ) and your lips will be on the outside... Dont worry, you'll be fine!!! Good Luck! :D

THE DENTIST HAS MOUTH PROPS TO HELP YOU STAY OPEN. DON'T WORRY ABOUT THIS.
