I really like (maybe even love) my best guy friend. (I don't want to say his or his friend's name on the internet, so I'm gonna call him Bob and his friend Fred) And his girlfriend broke up with him about 5 days ago. I really wanna ask him out, but I don't want it to be too soon. Ya know what I mean? Well today when we awere walking to realated arts I walked up beside Bob and started talking to him, then Fred said, "Hey Makenzie, do you like Bob?" Then I said, "Yea." Then Fred asked me about 3 or 4 more time, "You do?" And I kept saying, "Yea." Then Fred said, "Do you want to go out with him?" Then I said, "Yea, but he never would." Then we had to go into different classes, so we didn't finish talking. [[Me and Fred]] Me and Bob have both related arts together and he was ascting completely normal. BTW, when me and Fred were talking Bob was standing right there and heard the whole thing. Do you think that Fred was asking me out for Bob?

Then I started thinking about it, and I was like oh crap, what if he was aking me out for Bob. I never had a chance to ask Fred why he asked me that, but I wish I would have. Anyway was he or wasn't he? Thanks! Makenzie<3

I think he was doing the typical thing that a guy does to his best friend. He was probably trying to make his friend feel uncomfortable. Props to you for having enough guts to say that you liked him and not acting shy. That shows confidence. But I wouldn't take the "Hey Makenzie, do you like Bob" thing as a sign. Now, the fact that Bob was acting normal in class, may be a sign. If he didn't like the fact that you said you liked him, I'm sure he would have acted weird around you. Or he may have made it to where he wasn't around you at all. Why don't you just try asking him if he plans on dating again now that he broke up with his girlfriend. If he's your best guy friend, you guys should talk about stuff like that. Or you could even apporach Fred and ask him to give you the scoop on Bob. Ask him if he seems interested in any other girls or if Bob has mentioned your name (as being more than a friend). Just be careful not to make your friendship awkward. You may wanna give it some time too being that he did break up with her only 5 days ago. You don't want to be a rebound chick. And he'll probably carry some emotional baggage as well, so that's not something you'll want to deal with either. Best wishes!

I think that the best thing for you to do is not concern yourself with Fred's immature behavior. He could have been doing a lot of different things. He could have been asking you out for Bob (which Bob is lame if he can't do that himself), he could have been picking on Bob because he either likes you or he doesn't like you, who knows! Either way it's best to just leave Fred out of the picture and focus on Bob. If Bob likes you and you have already let him know you do, than leave the ball in Bob's court and what will be will be.

Sounds like at the least, Fred and Bob have had a discussion and Bob may be too shy to ask...

Why don't you call him?

I would say its a little to soon, although i dont know how long they were dating. Why not just try hanging out with him. Say somethign like come out we can get your mind off things.. and if it feels right go in for a kiss. Maybe I watch too much of the OC. But its worth a try. Whats the worst that can happen? You already have feelings for him thats interupting the friendship on your side. Good Luck

Very well could be. Your best option is to (same thing I said in the last 5 answers to female questions) take initiative. Talk to him about the class you are in. Talk him about the stuff that is going on the class, all meanwhile look at his body language. Is he completely comfortable? Is he cringing a bit? Is he trying to avoid you? - Play the game, reap the prize.

Definitely. I think Fred will also ask you for your hand in marriage too... for Bob, of course.

Psych your mind!

Well, he knows you like him now, so I think that the ball is in his court. Good luck.
