'The Times' is a very good newspaper with good journalism and interesting stories but this is often a bit too difficult if you are just learning English. With my students i always used to take in a copy of 'The Daily Mirror' because it's easy to read, lots of recognizable celebrities and lots of pictures that often explain the story.

For English the more up market newspapers are better an d all have on-line editions, The Guardian, The Telegraph or the Times are more tradition, the Guardian tends to be centre-left, the Times and the Telegraph are politically to the right, an interesting alternative would be the Independent.

We have tabloid papers that are more celebrity orientated, these include The Sun, The Mirror and the Daily Mail, all are best avoided.

The New York Times is always good. (www.nyt.com) I would not suggest the Wall Street Journal simply because it is a bit longer and at a higher reading level than most other papers.

It also depends on what part of America or the UK you are interested in. In the states at least even local areas have small local newspapers online anyone can read without a fee.

Sorry I can't help with papers in other languages.

USA Today is straightforward and fairly easy to read. It's not a great newspaper, but it's probably a pretty good paper for people learning to read English.

The New York Times or Wall Street Journal are probably the best American newspapers when it comes to quality, but they can be pretty difficult to read for the average American.

I can't speak for the quality of UK newspapers.

You want an easy paper to read not an intellectual one, So in UK down market with The Sun, The Daily Mirror. The Mail, The Express, These are all aimed at the less demanding members of the population.
If you want to ignore this. The Times, The Gaudian, The Independant, the Telegraph

buy the USA today. it covers the entire country instead of local newspapers which focus on more regional news. The USA Today is an english speaking paper....i think you are going to be hard pressed to find an American paper not in English.

For an American paper, I would recommend the New York Times. There is a spanish version too.

If you are more business oriented, then check out the Wall Street Journal...though I dod not know if they have a spanish version.
