If the answer is no - well then it seems that a person must belief in Jesus and/or God is a prerequisite for salvation. How do you suppose a person like myself just up and believe? I`m sure that most believers would agree that a persons heart would have to be into it. But how can a person force themselves to believe in something? Should I fake it? It`s kind of like Pascels Wager, if you`re right and God does exist then I will burn in hell forever. But if you`re wrong and he does not exist then you would have wasted some time. Obviously the safest bet at least according to Pascels wager is to believe in God. But how do you just up and believe in something you find to be totally irrational and fallacious?

Forget Pascal's wager.

Seek God as He tells you to.

Seek Him through His word.

It is a work of God that you might be brought to faith, true faith. You cannot work that up.

What do you think? If you fight against that, will He do that work?

Or if you seek Him and go to Him on the basis of His word revealed to us, will He do that work?

If you ask according to His word will He not act according to His word?

If you seek Him earnestly and wholeheartedly do you think He might reveal to you?

Of course it may appear irrational and fallacious. that is the work of sin. Sin makes a separation between God and us.

That is the problem.

Do you want it resolved?

We have God's promises. It is open for you to prove them.

And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves;
For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him?
And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee.
I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.
And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

You have stumbled upon a great truth of Scripture, one the Arminians fail to understand. Man, in his depraved, natural self, cannot believe in God, Jesus, or see his sinful condition. We are too depraved to see our depravity. God, who chooses out those for salvation, gives those whom He has chosen the faith to believe. Faith is a gift of God. He does not give faith to all people. So, the short answer is, you do not have faith because you do not have the capacity or ability to believe.

I am having kind of the same problem.
Not with religion, but with making my self do things.
Don't force yourself to become a Christian, please.
Take it in slowly.
I will give you a nice and easy push of.
God died on the cross for you, so that you would be seen blameless in front of God.
But please do not force yourself to become a Christian.
Read the Bible go to church.
Take baby steps into God.
PRAY PRAY PRAY.
I will pray for you and GOD WILL HELP YOU TO!

You can't fake faith (that sounds weird when you say it LOL), but seriously, you can't. If you don't believe now, you will when Christ returns (every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord). If you are not alive then, He will again descend "to the dead" to offer you salvation. So, you'll have plenty of chances to recognize Truth. God wants us ALL with Him in Paradise.
Yes ALL OF US - you too!!

You search for the truth. If you really want to know the truth, God will draw you to him. But don't attempt to get to know God if you are not sincere.

Seek TRUTH, It IS Out There!

But from there you will seek the LORD your God,. and you will find Him if you search for Him. with all your heart and all your soul. Deuteronomy 4:29 (NASB) ...

Jesus himself went to "church", and participated contained in the Saturday service with different Jewish adult adult males. he's recorded as examining from the scroll of Isaiah. Believing in Jesus skill believing what he taught, and one component he taught is to worship God. not on your mattress room, not in a clearing contained in the woods. In church with different believers. Christianity is a team attempt. Sunday, the day Christ rose from the lifeless, is the weekday maximum Christians assemble to "hear the tale and ruin the bread".

Sure...say you are falling off a cliff and Jesus say grabs your hand...that would be saving...although can't you see him being one of those types who does that grabbing motion while you are just standing there and says "saved your life"...what a joker.

I would suggest going to a revival meeting at a full gospel church. When you feel the presence of the Holt Spirit its easier to believe.
