We are planning for our first dinner soon. We are not dating as yet. She is going to New York for the first time and wants to see Mama Mia. Can I buy her the premium tickets as a gift. She has not asked for them but I think it will be a nice surprise for her when she gets seated in the first row. I really dont care if we hit off together in the future or not but would like her to have a memorable first trip to the big apple. Is that ok ?

You know, you never know when something will be received the way that it is intended. Sometimes, the specific circumstances create the problem. Not knowing everything about the two of you, one could never tell. But, I'd like to think that such a wonderful, generous, thoughtful, and unselfish act would be received well.

If you give them in the manner you've described I have to believe you'd knock her socks off. The best gifts are the ones we don't expect, the ones we don't ask for, and the ones we aren't expected to return. Make sure you tell her you don't expect anything specific in return except that you hope she enjoys the show and has a memorable first trip to the big apple.

In the meantime, do you give lessons? There are a lot of people (yes, men and women alike) that could benefit from your thought process.

Good luck. I hope it turns out the way you'd like.....cyndi

Why not? The only issue i can see is if she somehow takes that as a measure of how much you care and decides that is too much. (seems like a silly conclusion, but who knows!!). If you really don't care if you hit it off later, then it seems there is nothing to lose.

Hope she likes it!!

That is a wonderful idea and if she doesn't appreciate it then something is seriously wrong with her. We need more men like you.
