yes David, I hope your brother is the cop, not you because I have a slight doubt you might be able to catch a criminal without suffering a heart attack

wow being called a name by a police officer, shows how much feeling they have over a computer, sad really

in as I feel sorry for her having to resort to name calling,

imagine what she is like in REAL LIFE?

pray you don't get stopped by her, that is if she
is even a real cop, lol

"why do many cops not show up to court, when the defendant has a good defense attorney?" - Where do you come up with this stuff? Have ANY statistics that come close to showing this? Doubt it. My brother has been a cop for 12 years. Never missed one court date.

Based on the fact your response to my question was to simply insult me I am going to assuming that you are just a liar and a troll. Please go away until you are willing to ask an intelligent question.

Because you obviously want to be an attorney and sift through, reinterpret, amend and try to make sense of the mayhem that other previous attorneys and judges have created in our judicial/law system. "Cops" work in the REALITY of the streets where common sense is of prime essence and a little education goes a long way, not in the pseudo-world of the courtroom where reality takes numerous twists and turns. I have known cops with 4 and 6 year degrees by the way. None of them want to be attorneys though.

HAHAHA...its funny, but when you get a few years under your belt patrolling, you get to know the laws better than most attorneys out there.....I love showing up for court, whether its a good defense attorney or not, I get paid, I get the opportunity to put you in jail AND make your cheap public defender look like a moron, all in a days work my friend.

Because YOU have to know all of the history and how to look up precedence on the cases we bring to you. YOU are the one that knows all of the procedure, necessary papers, motions, and CYA that is needed to prosecute or defend a case.

We just cuff 'em and stuff 'em.

You obviously aren't an attorney, or have graduated law school. You are probably the person that the defense attorney is representing.

Maybe for the same reason they went to police academy longer then you and you are the one with membership in the bar.

Different training for different jobs.

We live ina very specialized economy - if you want to know more about why that is, please ask in the economy section. No need for an off topic post here :)

I've been practicing law for awhile now, and I sincerely hope that you're just some arrogant poser trying to stir things up. We don't need any more jackasses in the profession.

1. Because the pen IS mightier than the sword and you have to have the "bigger guns" and all the "bullets" at your disposal...
2. Cops arent stupid-they know if they would be fighting a loosing battle
