Immigration is OK in small doses with rules enforced. The immigration laws that were in effect when my grandparents came to this country were the best. Learning to speak English, knowing the laws of this country, having a real job, being healthy, mentally stable and intelligent were all good ideas because everyone could work together and be productive. There was little culture shock and resentment because they actually contributed to creating a society. They did not need a handout or become dependent on the government to provide for them. The current immigrants give a bad name to the entire system because they have nothing to little to offer decent society.

I think we should just solve the problem for every one involved....Invade Mexico claim it in the name of the united states and eliminate the CLEARLY failing government that exists there....
Think about it....businesses do it all the time....if a business has potential to be great but is a train-wreck in the hands of the current owners...someone will swoop in buy 'em out or just take em over and eliminate everyone in management for the failings...
If we look at it like that...hey what has everyone got to lose?
Hell we've already got a NEW Mexico....we could make it the 51st state....BRAND New Mexico!!
We all know how worthless Mexican Police are....Does Mexico even HAVE a military?? or are they all on the Colombian Drug Cartels Payroll?
I say invade, take over and put a Starbucks on every street corner...that way no one can ***** about immigration.

It takes too long. They keep on raising immigration fees and their reason is: TO SPEED UP THE PROCESS.
psshh! I was at one point out of status because of their irresponsibility! They were suposed to process an application for 90-120 days...it took them about 180 days! After that and after all the documents I have presented having my present legal name (married name), they sent me my green card with my maiden name! Of course I had to file for a replacement, they were trying to charge me almost $300, i am just so glad that i read every single word on the paperworks and found out that if it is their fault, the payment will be waived! Geez! of course, the replacement process took another month!
By the way, it seems funny that legal immigrants are given social security card that says "not valid for employment without the DHS authorization" and if you do, without paying the employment authorization which costs about $300, you will be deported, even if you came here legally.
While those illegals can work their a** off without paying a dime and still manage to walk on the streets with their heads up. I mean, i am not trying to insult the illegals here, i am trying to ask the immigration people why?!

There are a lot of people that immigrate to the US, those that do so legally are welcome but those that come illegally, regardless of their origin are not welcome.
Those that come legally work legally, get a real social security card and pay real taxes. An illegal immigrant works illegally has a phony or no social security card and pays no taxes, yet they still manage to get welfare and medical benefits that are paid for by all legal citizens and they want us to teach their children in Spanish instead of English (I am speaking about the illegals from Mexico)
I know that the government in Mexico is corrupt but instead of trying to get the US to change to their culture they should be fighting their own government to make things livable.

Legal immigration is fine. Our country was built by immigrants. We still have plenty of room and opportunity for immigrants. LEGAL immigrants. In order to maintain our sovereignty as a nation we must stop illegal immigration. We cannot have an open borders policy as some lame-brain above suggested. If we did we would cease to be the land of opportunity real quick! Guest worker program: no problem! But let's enforce our laws first! Legal-YES! Illegal-NO!

I think that it is fine to want to come to America but I think it should be done legally. I have a friend that came here from Africa and she had to fill out all the paperwork and have proof that someone could financially support her while she went to school here. People who want to enter our country breaking the law are people that will not abide by our law once here.

I did hate the idea at first as it is draining our systems like health care and my taxes have gone sky high on my home to build schools to educate their children and When I traveled I had to declare that I had Money to support myself while in their country and I did not get any free things like welfare etc etc
But I have rented to a young mexican and he is a class act young man {Single} His family taught him well.

Who can own land, no man can say this is my country, you can't live here. As far as taking jobs is concerned, I think immigrants should be payed the same as natives and the person best suited for the job should get it. People who have a problem with immigration should look at the condition of donor countries and should be proud to live in such a good country.
