And also the IPCC was a major help in Al Gore's works.

Let me reword the question.

Who is happy that Al Gore, his friends, family the IPCC, and his supporters won the NPP.

I think it was a great decision to split it between the IPCC, which is a conglomeration of the best climate science humans have done, and Al Gore, who made the science accessible to the general public.

Excellent job by the Nobel committee.

*edit* dpj - while I'm flattered, you're missing the point. I don't spend all my time raising global warming awareness. Al Gore does.

I don´t think a Nobel prize it's an honor, it's given just to socialist or liberals. Remember that even Hitler was a Peace Nobel Prize candidate. Nobel Prize means nothing for me. Sorry. By the way, Al Gore deserve it, and I'm share his concern about the enviroment.

Well, I'm glad that he got it. It gives him more international acclaim and it'll be reflective on his work as an environmentalist.

It's good that he has spent most of his time now campaigning for the protection of the environment, but we all know that stopping global warming from happening is impossible. Human evolution will definitely take a toll on the environment, no matter how much we try to reduce the damage being done, it's not possible to stop the global increase in temperature without slowing down our rate evolution.

I think dana1981 should've won it. He's done more for "man made" global warming than Gore. Gore has done nothing but made it a political issue rather than scientific. dana1981 doesn't have 4 energy hogging mansions. dana1981 doesn't transverse the world in a private jet. dana1981 doesn't gather musical artists together for what probably contributed more to their global warming than it ever did good. I seem to remember about 20 years ago Tipper did something she deemed best for the kids. Putting parental advisory stickers on music. Hmm. How did that work out for ya? School shootings almost daily and jails filled with teens. Al Gore is as big a fraud as his wife.

I can't help remembering Gore's claim to inventing the Internet when he was running for president.
When the world starts it's natural cooling trend, as scientist have shown from historical trends, will Gore take credit?

I'm very happy for him! He's brilliant and definitely deserves the recognition for all he's done in raising awareness. He got screwed out of the presidency, so at least he got this...

Can't believe a bunch of lies won an award. I don't know why he didn't win when he invented the internet.
