i was looking at a list of physicians and i saw "family medicine" after one guys name. he is a physician though right???? cause i need a new doctor....

It means he's is a general practitioner. He sees patients from newborn to elderly.

Yes, he is a physician. It usually means that he will treat the whole family from infants thru geriatrics. There are those that still want infants to go to a pediatrician. But he is an MD so don't be afraid.

Family medicine means he can treat your family members, whether they have a cold, a broken finger, etc. He is an accredited Medical Doctor.

I would think it means they specialize in family care or family practice. My doctor's office that I go to is titled Family Practice.
