When I looked at this question, I was astounded: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AqwXdHvj8WK7Knog4YFhunvpy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20071012055548AAJAL3B

I mean, just look at the best answer, and then look at the first two after that. What kind of comparison is that! What is wrong with some of you people. All the evidence is right in front of you, and sitting there and saying, "Evolution is a lie from Satan" is just being intellicually dishonest and making yourself look like a fool.

Why do you disbelieve in evolution simpy because it doesn't agree with your "sacred text," and not because you actually find anything wrong with the theory?

Uncle Thesis: so what? Does that make it any less valid? Just because you WANT some magical meaning to life, with someone looking over you 24/7, doesn't mean that's reality.

i..need.a...life: i'm not forcing anything onto you. I'm just asking why you deny something in the face of all evidence. I'm not trying to prove evolution, just get you to believe in it (kinda wasting my time, aren't i?)

C.L. Richardson: why do you always go around parading about how much "evidence" there is for creationism. Please, point me in the direction of an unbiased website where they present information about creationism.

If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.
He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

Your evidence, which never was very convincing, is shown to be wrong by the witness of God.

That you refuse or do not have that witness does not make your evidence any more convincing but sadly rather makes you look the fool in the light of God's witness.

Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

Why bother with this fruitless argument?

Rather seek God and His witness. God's witness brings an end to all strife.

Evolutionists: Why don't you believe in intelligent design when all the evidence is right in front of you?

I have to agree with T. Wallace: “A major reason why evolutionist arguments can sound so persuasive is because they often combine assertive dogma with intimidating, dismissive ridicule towards anyone who dares to disagree with them. Evolutionists wrongly believe that their views are validated by persuasive presentations invoking scientific terminology and allusions to a presumed monopoly of scientific knowledge and understanding on their part. But they haven’t come close to demonstrating evolutionism to be more than an ever-changing theory with a highly questionable and unscientific basis. (The situation isn’t helped by poor science education generally. Even advanced college biology students often understand little more than the dogma of evolutionary theory, and few have the time [or the guts] to question its scientific validity.)”

As Dr. Jonathan Sarfati says, we need to quit calling evolution a theory; that is giving it too much credit. “Goo to you” evolution is an unsubstantiated hypothesis or conjecture, not a theory.

A lot of archeologist and scientist are discovering artifacts and other stuff that prove events in the Bible really happened( like the flood) Therefore the Bible isn't just a "sacred text" it's part of science and history. As far as the evidence around me goes. I ask how can one look at creation and all it's wonders and say that all of creation adapted in to what it is. Here's something I found that's interesting.
"Intelligent design is the theory that living things show signs of having been designed. ID supporters argue that living creatures and their biological systems are too complex to be accounted for by the Darwinian theory of evolution, and that a designer or a higher intelligence may be responsible for their complexity"(http://www.beliefnet.com/story/166/story_16641_2.html)

I find this more believable then evolution theory.

We all have the same evidence, it is just a matter of interpreting the evidence based on our presuppositions and world view. You may look at the Grand Canyon and say, "Look what a little water and a lot of time did", I would look at it and say, "Look what a lot of water and a little time did." And, I could point to Mt. St. Helens to prove it was possible. The truth is, no human was there when the world began, all we have is the remaining evidence of what occurred. To say evolution is "proven" and "scientific" is simply dishonest. If it were proven, there would be no argument. It is a belief, based on a secular, materialistic world view. I choose to believe what God said in His word over the words of fallible men with fallen, depraved minds.

I do have several reasons for not believing in evolution, the main one however is that, there are just too many gaps in the theory. I just don't see how it is possible, for a simple amoeba, to transform into a complex, intelligent human being who is capable of having this debate.

As far a creationism goes, I won't point to any website (becasue we know that the internet is SOOO creditable now a days) or anything like that, but just to nature. Look around, at the beauty of everything, do you really think that that is just a stroke of luck? Can you honestly say that the ozone and everything else that keeps us alive is just luck?

Do you think it is fair for you do define another's position on something, then knock it down? This is called a straw-man argument.

There are some serious flaws in the evolutionary model in so many ways, and those like me are being honest in our appraisal, instead of blinding ourselves to the holes in evolution as you obviously are.

Even "simple" single cell organisms are complex, where all the parts must work properly for the organism to survive. The evolutionary model claims over time there is development of an organism. This would mean the organism did not survive until all the parts were complete, then it survived??? Backward logic.

Then there is the issue of things like 5 or 6 mass extinctions where only bacteria survived, but in the proverbial evolutionary blink of an eye, life diversified and became complex "over night".

Care to explain sex? When did two organisms decide to exchange genetic material, when the evolutionary process was one of cellular division in order to multiply and grow?

Evolution insults the intelligence of the intelligent.

Last time I took a legitimate I.Q. test I scored 174. How bout you?

Because most people are idiots. i mean look at how many people don't even know what a theory is. They say "evolution is just a theory" or "it is still a theory, not fact". Which of course means "I have no idea what a theory is".

They don't know the basics of science you are supposed to learn about in 8th grade, how do you expect them to understand complex evolutionary and biological sciences?

I would challenge anyone on this post to email me their "arguments". but keep in mind, I will not pull any punches if your argument stems from ignorance.

Not even today with all the technology we have can science even produce the simplest evolution in laboratories even in totally controlled experiments they can not do it, they will claim that a new variety of orange created by science is evolution but there is just one problem with this IT IS STILL AN ORANGE !! God did say all will reproduce after its kind he did not say new varieties were impossible for us to create. Even with all the experiments today with proteins they are only showing ADAPTATIONS not evolution.
Simply changing something from one form to another form of the same thing is merely adaptation and that is possible but science has NOT performed evolution by merely changing it's form

Who said Christians don't believe in evolution. Evolution is one of God's great plans. We are just now beginning to discover how this plan evolved.

Evolution is a process. I believe that organisms can adapt to changes in their enviroment by genetic adaptation. Isn't Heavenly Father's plan wonderful?
