The fact that you are a Security Guard won't get you any additional/special consideration in New York these days. New York has the some of the highest limitations and Restrictions for Concealed Carry Permits in the nation with the exception of California State. I know of a few retired Police Officers in New York that after 25+ years on the job, the only carry permits that are issued to them are "restricted" and limit where they can carry a concealed weapon. These two guys carry large sums of money as part of their current employment, but they are severely restricted to "carrying while actually performing their job responsibilities only."...They can't legally carry their weapons for any other purpose or at any other time or place.New York restrictions even apply to Government appointed "Special Police" officers appointed by the State of NY.......

Basically, since you live in a state that is not shall-issue as far as concealed permits go, unless you have political connections, the best reasons in the world to carry a gun won't mean squat to most of the morons on gun boards.

Unless you know someone, CCW in NY state and NY City are almost impossible to get for the common Joe Blow.

I would think living in New York would be a good enough reason to get a CCW. You realise if you lie to the court about your reason to get one, they'll find out and you'll be in trouble?

NY CCWs are granted on a highly discretionary basis....
In my opinion find someone that has one in your area and find how they got it....
