im 19 and he's 20. i want to move in but he says no. I dont think were too young but he says we are. Why doesnt he want me to move in with him? we've been dating for over a year. Does it just mean that he doesnt really care about me? I don't get it.

ur too young. Im 20 and my girlfriend is 19... she wanted us to move in with eachother too, but I said no. We've been dating for about 9 months. I just think that at this age we aren't mature enough to live together just yet.

to be honest I think he is being smart. At 19 and 20 you have a lot more to learn about yourself and each other. What would you do if you broke up? One of you would be homeless. Living with someone is completely different then sleeping at each other's places. And even if you are old enough to live together you should respect his decision because why would you want to live with him if he doesn't want you there. Quite possibly he may not be ready to be in that serious of a relationship yet. Moving in may mean to him that marriage is not too far off in the future and that may scare him.

I was 20 when I moved in with my 29 year old boyfriend, he is now my husband. There could be alot of reasons why he may not want you to move in. I don't think it has to do with him caring or not caring for you. He might like his space or perhaps he wants to take things slow. Yes, dating a year is slow but also moving in is a huge jump.
If you dont already, you could see if he wouldnt mind you staying over one or two nights a week - just to be with him. He honestly just might not be ready to take the next step.

It means that he wants to keep things moving slow. Moving in together is a HUGE step in a relationship. I don't blame him for saying no. I would leave things how they are, and when the time is right to move in together it will happen. What is the rush??
19 is too young to move in together.
Good Luck with everything!

I don't think that 19 and 20 are too young. There is a good chance that he cares for you. He might just not be ready yet.

Maybe it means that..he respects you that he doesn't want to just shack up with you? I never understood this trend of moving in with some guy knowing full well that the chances of you two getting in a fight and breaking up are very very high (especially among young people). And yes, you are too young. I don't know, I think too many females make it too convenient for men to use and mistreat them because they make themselves too easily available. If he loves you, he'll do the right thing and ask you to marry him, THEN move in together.

i dont think that he doesnt care. maybe he just wants to explore living on his own by himself for a while, thats normal. I wouldnt push the issue. Wait a while and maybe he will come around.

You just want to move in.....

What are your responsibilities going to be to keep up the household?

You want to play house. Maybe he thinks of you as someone a bit more serious than that.
