My 5yr old son has had problems with his toncils for 6mons now, they are kinda large and he has bad breath .Every time I take him to see the doctor they tell me the same thing. To have him gargle with salt water and use a mouth rinse. They say that his toncils arent large enough to be taken out and they did a strep throat test on him and he dont have that. They wont prescribe him an antibiotic if he dont have strep. I have him brush his teeth gargle with salt water and rinse with childrens mouth wash morning noon and night , I also have him eating chicken noodle soup. Has anyone else had this problem and found out a way to fix it? I'm frustrated with the doctors and don't know what else to do.Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thank you.

oh, memeries........ this happened to me a few years ago. it hurts really bad. when you gargle with salt water, then add some white vinagar. after gargling, "massage his outer throat where his tonsils are. do this 3 times daily. they SHOULD have gave him an antibiotic anyway. look at his tonsils. do they have whit spots on them? if so i do NOT care WHAT the doc says it IS strep. mouth washes can increse the way it hurts. (i know from 2 experiances along with my dad the doc's idea) . don't stop the s, w, + v after 1 or 2 days. he needs to do the cycle ( massage and gargle for 3 times daily for about 3-4 weeks adn 1 week after he is better to prevent it from returning.

i know how he feels cuz the same thing has happened to me a lot of times. i hope he feels better and he will be in my prayrs

DOES YOUR SON DRINK SUFFICIENT AMOUNTS OF WATER, NOT SOFT DRINKS OR MILK?
THIS COULD ALL BE FROM EITHER AN ALLERGY OR TONSIL STONES, COMMONLY FOUND IN OLDER CHILDREN AND ADULTS.
HAVE HIM SEE AN EAR-NOSE-THROAT DOCTOR.
