First of all people from Peru, Cuba, Argentina, or Puerto Rico are not Spanish. Spanish= Spain= Nationality. Mexico has a negative connotation in the U.S.A. and there are a lot of negative stereotypes about Mexican-Americans. I don't know what there is to be offended about when Mexico has the 12th largest economy worldwide. It's in better shape financially than Argentina, Cuba, and third world Peru. Mexico is one of the few global powers in Latin-America. If there were a Latin-American hierarchy it would be: Argentina French Guiana Uruguay Costa Rica Chile Brazil Mexico Colombia Venezuela Those are the only countries in Latin-America that are upper to lower Middle Income class countries. The rest are poor as dirt! No joke!!

NO, there may be however, individuals who exhibit prejudice towards some or all of these and other people that have something different about them from the particular individual who exhibits the prejudice. Not a good way to go through life, I think you miss out on a lot of life by closing your self off.

They live in a totally different continent. I don't believe they hate them. They can't be purely "Spanish", because Spain is made up of different ethnicities too -- Just like all of Latin America, not just Aztec bloodlines with Spanish dialect. It's like saying, "Do the English hate Americans in the U.S.?".

I don't know about the Spanish. But, I have known many Mexicans who often refer to their Spanish heritage. I get the impression that the upper classes in Mexico use this to distinguish themselves from the poor and to give themselves a prestige.

No, but they do have the same snobby attitude that the British have towards Americans. It's that way for any "mother" country that had colonies and lost them. They feel that their spelling and grammar of the langauge is correct, that their culture is older and better, etc. etc.

No, why would anyone hate anyone for that matter? I'm a non-racist of spanish descent and have many friends who are of different races.

I don't think they hate them, but there definitely is an attitude of superiority over them.

This can also be seen in Mexico where the are actually a very large number of blondish hair and hazel eyed people are generally more rich or better off than black hair and brown eyed people.
