Do you ever try to get to know people whom you don't find pleasing on the eyes?

I do because I don't feel threatened by them.

So are you saying you feel threatened by "beautiful people".

You should befriend all kinds of people. Not everyone can be beautiful or smart or a sports jock. That's what makes the human race so interesting.

You have all these friends and each one of them has special talents.

Like one friend is not shy at all so you have her do the contacts with the boys, hehe.

Another friend is really smart, she helps with the hard questions and so on.

It's like a living, breathing human reference that you can contact and actually speak to.

Make lots of friends, you could be the one in the group that is the most friendliest!

You can't always judge by the way people look. Some of the nicest people I've ever met have not been "pleasing on the eyes". There's more to relationships, friendships, etc than looks. If that's all that's important to you...I feel sorry for you.

k I dont like this question. Everyone is beautiful in their own ways. Some one you find ugly might be the most beautiful person to someone else.
Does this answer your question?
... yea, no I dont feel threatened by anyone, why would I?

There are no ugly people, just glamorously challenged. Unless they are ugly on the inside and that's a different question.

Sometimes it's nice knowing people that you don't have to worry about getting into a relationship with.

You have to accept them, as you might not look that Ok in the eyes of others. But I agree with you on the fact that not all people are so easy to talk to. Think of some one else while you're talking to that person.
Good Luck
Hope it helped.

Why do you feel threatened by good looking people?

People are people, good looking and not so good looking have something to offer, but only if you're willing to take the chance to give them a chance.

I think that looks don't really matter and what really counts is what kind of person they are. It sounds like the real problem is that you are a little insecure with yourself, and I would work on that. Just like only talking to attractive people, you miss out on some really great people that aren't so attractive, its the same thing..

I'll talk to uglier people, but although they're sweet, they tend to be quieter; I hang out with my friends because we're all loud, audacious, outgoing, and fun... And 97% of the time my friends are pretty. And although I sometimes talk to unattractive guys, I'd never go out with one. Plus I have a boyfriend who's cute AND amazing, so why WOULD I want to go out with an ugly guy?

It's sad that we live in a society that places such a high value on beauty because 'pretty=good'. When I was younger I found myself listening to bull from friends (and even parents!) about what's cute or not and the snooty attitudes and it was beginning to rub off on me.

Luckily, I found the strength of mind to pull away from that superficial nonsense and I KNOW my life is better for it.
