Do you have any stories to tell about one?
Good bad, whatever.
I'll start. 12 Days of Christmas play, grade 2.
My story is that i was at the last minute sent onstage as a lord a leaping...my instructions were to go onstage and bow. I bowed to the audience to laughter that I know the audience must have liked. I was embarassed. :)

I guess the way to say this is that it depends on where you are. In elementary school, You MIGHT get away with it. In this PC world, Christmas has been replaced with winter. You don't have a Christmas break. Oh no.. you have WINTER break. A Christmas concert? Parish the thought. A Winter Concert.

My best experience was as a teacher with a group of 8th graders. We too did the 12 days of Christmas WITH ACTIONS. I told the audience, GET READY FOLKS, this is gonna be a side splitter. And it was.

Maybe a Holiday Pageant, but the word Christmas is banned from public school festivals.

When I was in school, it was allowed (am 42), I remember all the different grade levels getting to perform Christmas Carols for the parents and guests at the school. I was a lot of fun. It is a shame it is no longer allowed.

Public colleges interior the U. S. are no longer allowed to sell faith. that does no longer mean they won't be able to rejoice the secular components of a substantial holiday. The final time I checked, there grow to be no longer something Christian approximately Santa or reindeer. If a public college is putting up a nativity scene interior the cafeteria, or conserving a Christmas prayer consultation earlier smash, then they're exposing themselves to a capacity regulation wholesome. yet you would be shocked at how few colleges even point out Christmas anymore. they have quite often opted to rejoice a familiar iciness holiday season, if something, out of appreciate for people who do no longer rejoice Christmas.

I've been out of school quit awhile but I don't ever remember doing a 'Christmas' pageant. BTW, to those who are so bothered that using religious phrases at the winter solstice time have been stopped, try to keep in mind how upset you'd be if 'Praise Allah' was written everywhere or a school was decorated with mainly menorah's at certain times of celebration. Geez. How insulted would you feel? Or, how much would it bother you to send your children to a school that decorated itself according to Jewish, Islamic, Hinduistic or Buddhist tradition?
When I was in HS, I do remember doing a musical at that time.
For people who are supposed to be so loving and non-judgmental, you sure do throw a fit when you aren't allowed to spread your religious influence. Winter Solstice decorations re just as pretty and I doubt they insult anyone. The time off school and the party's weren't cut out-just the religious phrases and activities that never should have started in the first place.
I'm not always a fan of PC but you should at least respect separation of church and state. I'm sure Romney is grateful!

About 8 years ago when I was in middle school, my school did a Christmas pageant thing. All the grades used to sing a song individually and stuff. It was fun.

No, not anymore. In fact, our schools in Maine aren't allowed to put up any decorations related to Christmas (no Christmas trees, nativity scenes, Santas, etc) because not everyone celebrates and Lord save us if someone is offended. In fact, it is not even correct to say "Merry Christmas" anymore. We are, however, perfectly free to decorate with snow flakes, snowmen, and other winter decorations and to say "Happy holidays."

I went to a parochial school so of course we were allowed since it was a church sponsored school. Public schools might be different. Get thru Halloween first man!
