The answer to this question is no, the main contributers to "green house gases" are china and india. Both of whom who have basically told the UN and all the greenies across the globe to take a flying leap. The U.S is just the big bad meanie in the world cause we have all the money and prosperity.
Side note, scrub your eyes. There is a ton of crap in them. Next thing go buy "State of Fear" by Micheal Chrieton. Read that.

You'll probably hate this answer.
The US is way behind much of the rest of the world when it comes to dealing with global warming and it's effects. In Europe for example it's been at the top of the political agenda since the mid 90's and significant steps have been taken to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. So much so that whilst GHG emissions in the US and other parts of the world have risen they've fallen slightly across Europe.
Europe and Japan are leading the world in cleaner technologies and better fuel efficiency, this is being exported around the world - good for the economies of the exporting nations and better for the environment.
Of all the major nations on the world there were only two that didn't ratify the Kyoto Protocol - Australia and America (the Kyoto Protocal is an international agreement to reduce greenhouse gas emissions). Australia has now implemented it's own plan to take action on climate change, the US has once again delayed taking action.
At the recent G8 summit President Bush stood isolated from the other world leaders and caused further serious damage to the worldwide reputation of the US.

No The USA hasn't done really anything to stop Global Warming besides the Clean Air Act.
Where did you get the USA was the only one trying to stop Global Warming from? The only two countries not to sign the (forget name its a convention where everyone was supposed to sign a bill) were the USA and Australia.
And i saw the movie a couple of weeks ago and i don't remember them saying anything about just the USA trying to stop Global Warming because the rest of the world is doing it and the USA is doing nothing.
And i am SO happy because the won the Noble Peace Prize!!!

I couldn't of said it better myself!!

No, global warming is not about clean air. Once greenhouse gases are released into the atmosphere, it makes no difference where they came from. We all share the same atmosphere.
That makes it really unfair for third world countries which are going to be hit the hardest by the effects of global warming. Countries like the USA have contributed the most to global warming, but third world countries which have contributed the least will face the consequences of our actions.

I am happy with the fact that people would like to help make the environment a better place..but i dont believe in AGW (anthropological global warming, man-made global warming).
Al Gore’s Global Warming Hoax is COMPLETE BS…
Al Gore has as much credibility on environmental issues, as Bill Clinton has on marital fidelity.
Take a look at Gore’s documentary for example; he exaggerates his figures by 1000%, as proven by one of his former colleagues. He also fails to accurately show the warm period in medieval times of which the years were hotter on average then any other time in history. Truth is, the Earth goes through cycles of warming and cooling, and according to past recordings, we are nowhere near as hot now as it was several hundred years ago in the Middle Ages. He’s telling us all to ride our bikes to work when he flies a personal Lear jet around the world and 4 out of 5 of his houses consume 20 times more energy then the normal consumer.
There’s something wrong here…
The media consists of left-wing deacons.

The US is the greatest contributor to global warming, so naturally we have a greater responsibility to do something about it. But the fact is that the rest of the world is far ahead of the US. More than a hundred nations have ratified the Kyoto Protocol agreeing to combat global warming. The United States is one of the few holdouts. Al Gore has been traveling the world urging ALL nations to participate in the battle. Hope you get on board.

nicely worldwide warming is genuine. yet what's inflicting the worldwide warming is up for debate. Many scientists say that the CO2 ranges actually bypass up after the temperatures bypass up! so as which potential the CO2 ranges are to not blame. permit's basically look on the project from all angles and locate out what makes the main sense. i think of the Politicians have hijacked the worldwide warming subject and characteristic tacked on their very own schedule to trick human beings into allowing a carbon tax. i've got study articles from many scientists who say the sea produces lots extra CO2 than people. And the warming is occurring from the suns pastime not from greenhouse gases. EDIT: Alihusen, that's under no circumstances incorrect to strengthen questions! you're incorrect for having that form of close-minded attitude to technology. technology is ongoing and constantly changing. Scientists could exchange their hypotheses and their minds each and all the time to come back to the terrific suited conclusions. do not attempt to silence absolutely everyone's questions EVER! no person ever is conscious all of it and questions in basic terms help us to income and comprehend extra. SORRY THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT THE CASE
A LOT OF COUNTRIES ARE ALREADY TAKING ACTION, OTHERS ARE SPECIFICALLY WAITING FOR THE US TO TAKE ACTION
The US is more likely the last of all countries to accept to take action.
Even developped countries are starting to accept the idea of a firm cap on their emissions.
Over 50% of the projects in emerging countries to slow down greenhouse gases initiatives have been the result of their own efforts. The rest has been co-financed by the signatories of the Kyoto Protocol (mostly the European Union and Japan).
EVEN CHINA (which is still only a developing country) HAS AN AMBITIOUS PLAN TO ADDRESS ITS CO2 EMISSIONS:

The US DOES NOT HAVE SUCH A PLAN

Nope, but it does mean that the US economy will be crippled due to the high cost of additional air pollution controls. These costs will be passed on to the consumer and jobs will be eliminated as a result of companies trying to offset these costs. Meanwhile, the other countries will fill the void left by the US in the world economy and we will lose our global dominance. There's a lot more to the global warming problem than just global warming.

It should be mandatory for people to see that film.
It's not that people don't care. a huge percentage of Americans are more concerned with debunking Global Warming. Apparently, they think more companies would profit from stricter emission laws then the laws we have now. I don't get it either.
