I have nothing against the LDS, my best friend is one. They confess Jesus is Lord, seek and ask forgiveness, and repent and that's all that matters in my opinion (with regards to being saved).

Mormons frequently try to make it appear that there are similarites between Mormonism and Christianity, but there is great deception involved. Beware, their beliefs are highly dangerous. First of all, the Mormon faith is demonic. The angel that transmitted the book to Joseph Smith, the founder of Mormonism, was an impersonating spirit.
God never evolved to the state of perfection as Mormonism teaches - He always was perfect. The Bible says that "God is the same yesterday, today and forever" (Hebrews 13:8).
Mormonism makes salvation attainable through works. Jesus did not attain His position through works as Mormonism teaches. Jesus is co-etental with The Father, God. The Bible teaches "that there are three which bear record in Heaven: The Father, The Son and The Holy Ghost and all Thee are One. In Colossians 1:6, Everything was made by Him ( Jesus) and for Him. In the Beginning Elohim created the heavens and the earth. Elohim is masculine plural ie the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
Jesus and Satan are not brothers as this faith teaches. Satan is a fallen angel. Jesus is God incarnate in the flesh. In Philippians 2:7, He thought it not robbery to consider Himself equal with God but make Himself of no reputation and took on the form of a man.
Mormons think that there are many gods. This is idolatrious thinking. Exodus Chapter 20 teaches the there is only one God (Jehovah Elohim) and Him only shalt thou serve.
Can you attain salvation through Mormonism. No because they make salvation attainable through good works such as obedience to the Ten Commandments. The thief on the cross did not have time to perform good works. It was by grace through faith that Jeus said to him (Ephesians 2:8): "today thou shalt be with Me in paradise."
My advise is not stay around Monmons that resist the truth. You do not subconsciously want to imbibe anything from them. There are records of people being delivered from the cult Mormonism after a dark, demonic presence left them.
My question is why would a person want to identify as a Mormon with all those false beliefs and still want salvation? (Salvation being totally through faith apart from the law.) My answer is that they could be hiding something. St. Paul and the other of Jesus apostles fought for doctrinal purity. The biggest battle was against the Gnostics who had similar beliefs as the Mormons. If those Mormons would become sincere, they too would uphold doctrinal purity and stick closely to the unadultrated Bible truths.

Historic Christians ask Jesus to be their savior. That is one step that you left out.
Mormons do a lot more. They have to accept Joseph Smith as a prophet of God when he is isn't. They have to pray over the Book of Mormon without reading it and gather whether it is the word of God. There is a lot more going on here than you are letting one.

Let's see....Mormons:
1. Believe the Bible is correct ONLY when it doesn't contradict one of your other books ( Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price)
2. Reject the Trinity.
3. Believe that God has a physical body "that looks like yours".
4. Believe that Jesus was "originally one of the spirit beings that all humans used to be"
5. Deny original sin.
6. Believe that faith AND works can save you, and put an emphasis on WORKS, when Christ put it on faith.
7. Believe that we get a "second chance" after death.
8. Believe that Jesus appeared to "ancient america"
Personally, I'd like to know where the gold plates are that Joseph Smith CLAIMS to have translated HIS writings from. I mean, I would think if you wanted people to know what you were writing was valid you'd keep them and put them on display.....

Reading your bible doesn't save. Jesus died for your sins
Being good doesn't save Jesus died for your sins
abiding by teachings doesn't save Jesus died for your sins
The God of the bible (Jesus) is the creator. Created everything (including Satan).
The God of Mormonism is Satans brother.
Eph 2:8-9 says you cannot work you way to heaven. Mormonism teaches you have to work you Way to heaven.
Jesus on the cross said "it is finished" Mormons want to add to what was finished.
Mormons think they are going to be gods someday if they are good little Mormons. Their book says different.
They believe contrary to the bible so they are not saved.
Jesus is the only God and they don't believe it how can they be asking him to save them?
go to latterdaysaints.com and read quotes from thier founders and prophets. They had no clue

Personally, I believe that the covenant of the New Testament is pretty clearly stated.
If a person sincerely enters into this covenant by accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior of the eternal soul, then they are assured the kingdom of heaven.
EVERYTHING else becomes the work and word of man.

All who call on my name are saved, saith the Lord. With a right heart, mountains can be moved, no matter your religion. It's your faith that does the trick. Jesus taught that it was the unbeliever's unbelief that was thwarting them, plus He made it very easy to have this faith. It's all in the New Testament, Romans. I've met unbelievers who believed in Heaven. How they expect to get there is anybody's guess. Jesus is the way, the light and the truth. See you there!

Yes.
By the same token, a Born Again Christian, if they do those things, will be saved too, even if they understand the Bible, but DON'T do the following:
*Get baptized by someone with the LDS Priesthood
*Receive the LDS Gift of the Holy Ghost
*Receive the signs and tokens of the Endowment
*"Seal" their marriage in the LDS temple, and all of the physical rites that this involves
If they understand the LDS Church to be incorrect in this life, they will understand it to be incorrect in the next life and won't accept the ordinances that LDS people perform for them in the Temples. Nevertheless, they will also be saved.

If you asked the wrong person for something you wont get the right things. We are saved by faith not works. You must have faith in the God and his Son Jesus as described in the "Bible" not the one described in the book of Momon. If a person has faith in the one GOD, he will be saved.

God looks on the heart.
I am NO ONE's judge.
Yes, I believe there will be people of ALL faiths saved.
God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. It does not matter what you call yourself or what building you go to on what day of the week. ALL of those barriers were placed there by MAN. God is the only one who can judge what is in the heart.

Email me and let me show you how much Mormonism does not follow Scripture and has created a new Jesus to suit themselves. Also, they read a "bible" that has been translated by Joseph Smith. They don't believe Jesus' death was enough to cover all their sins (if you don't believe Jesus' death was sufficient enough then you don't have faith in Christ ...and we are saved by grace through faith), and they believe that God was once a man on another planet who acheived "godhood" Himself and is now ruler over this planet.
please email me at ferrari_boy77@yahoo.com and let me show you the contradictions.
