There was an issue in San Francisco where people dressed as nuns and took communion in a Catholic church in order to offend the church. Not sure of the details. Anyway, the SF mayor Gavin Newsom did nothing to condemn it and did not bring charges.

O'Reilly said that Newsom condones that activity because he allows it to happen. But doesn't that mean that God condones evil because he allows it to happen?

Evolution: I don't know if it's illegal. It was private property so maybe they can get a trespassing beef. That's not my point anyway. My point is that O'Reilly would probably also hypocritically tell you that God does NOT condone evil.

LOL...nice association. Still, I don't expect many converts from this argument. They've got their "God isn't responsible for evil - we are," and you can't make them budge from that, even though it should be obvious that "God," by definition, could eliminate evil at any time, regardless of who's responsible for it, but doesn't.

I think that the mayor should have done something about that b/c for him to do nothing, gives the impression that he does condones what they did and if he does nothing, than they will probably feel free to do other things to the church.Of course that doesn't mean that God condones evil. The reason God allows some evil things to happen is b/c they are a result of someones sin.How could God prove that right is right if there was no wrong.Remember that all things happen for a reason and that there is a time and season for everything.People do bad things sometimes.God is not going to just stop evil from existing.we have free will.If someone decides to do evil then that's what they will do but they will be judged by God.All bad things are not always the result of something the devil did.The devil can't make people do anything. He can put thoughts in our heads and try to use our weaknesses against us but he can't make us do anything b/c of our free will that God never intended us to use for evil. It's just life playing out.for those who aren't saved, are not covered by the blood of Christ.though they choose not to serve him they are wide open to the devil. So how can you expect God to do anything when aren't apart of his body. This is why God allows bad things to happen:b/c people never get it until something tragic happens. When it does what do you see?People pouring into the churches.

The answers on this question are why I stopped going to church, why I hated church people (bible thumpers) and I'm sure torah and Book of Mormon etc thumpers.

People think God loves them more than he does other people

Eventually I realized there could be no God and the concept fit into what a man's concept of a creator would be. To some he would be benevolent, and to these people it would make sense that the majority of the world population was suffering.

Nothing holy about that. Only a manwould be so arrogant, and only men would say if you did not give money god would not love you. If God loved you he's provide like he did for the Apostles.

Wars have always been fought in God's name, and innocents have died in the millions because of that.

I think Man is behind the God theory and Men are capable of untold evil, not the devil or ghosties, regular jealous greedy, slothfull, lusting, self serving Men (and women)

Worst of all they knock on my door on my day off

God doesn't condone evil, man does. God gave man dominion over the earth until He returns, and then see what happens Mayor Newsom. God is Judge and Mayor Newsom, Bill O'Reilly and I will be judged and so will you.

San Francisco should worry about the judgment of God and not what Bill O'Reilly and Mayor Newsom say or do. Sodom and Gomorrah did not survive and they will not either. God is not partial regardless of what Nancy Pelosi tells you about San Francisco.

Sir, God judges sin, He doesn't condone it.

Christian people, please move out of San Francisco!

To the best of my belief, a mayor can not bring charges: it would have to be the city prosecutor. On a more relevant note, any God would certainly be more responsible than any mayor, as presumably any God would have the power to prevent the wrong while a mayor would simply be a human observer.

I don't know what the Mayor would have to do with it ... it's not illegal to dress as a nun and take communion! It may be inappropriate and offensive to the church, but the Mayor shouldn't need to be involved.

Asking why the Mayor didn't stop it is like asking why fish don't eat spaghetti.

Read James 1:13-15 Condoning and allowing is two different things. Condoning is to agree with God never agrees with sin. God allows it because of mans freewill.

O'Reilly is a blathering idiot. Dressing as a nun is not illegal, neither is of age drinking or eating wafers.

I do not condone his being on television, but I allow for it. Too bad he can't make the same distinction.

i didn't personally hear what O'Reilly said...people make fun of Christians all the time. If the same hing were done to other religions or denominations there would be some explaining to do. California and their governmental bodies do what ever they please. They call it Freedom of Expression. God allows people to make their own choices.

Was there something against the law done?Sounds like something between the people and the church. I don't see where anything illegal was done. It shouldn't concern the Mayor at all.
