I am a Christian, but wouldn't dream of criticizing others for their beliefs, trying to convert them, etc. What gives these people the right to disrespect others like that? They should be more concerned about the lives they lead, and leave others alone. Mind your own business, people!!!

i'm an atheist and you do make a sturdy factor. Satanists are each bit as irrational as Christians and that i do tend to enable them to slide, so a ways as rigorous good judgment is in contact. My in common terms, particularly lame, excuse is that Satanists are a recent phenomenon and absence Christianity's long and infamous background of human rights abuses. nevertheless, you're rather stunning and that i promise to precise lambaste the subsequent Satanist silly sufficient to positioned up a question that irritates me. Edit: Whoa! Boy, am I ignorant. i assumed Satanists unquestionably did worship God's fallen angel, the grasp of Hell. i replaced into needless to say incorrect. hear that every person, i replaced into incorrect! i'm sorry, i assume you will could beat up on the Satanists without my help. Sometimes Christians because so caught up in the amazing power of Christ's forgiveness that they become attack dogs trying to bring everyone unto Him. Minding their own business is good in many respects but when it comes to the salvation of others, I'm not so sure. At least put the Good News out there!

I know they will say it's because they're trying to help the others get to the "right" beliefs, but it definitly seems like it more often just boils down to wanting to feel "right" themselves. Most don't stop to think that if they were born in another city or to different parents, they might be arguing for a totally different side.

people need to understand, that just because ur born in a christian family u would call yourself a christian, but u need to "walk the walk and talk the talk". so a true christian would actually respect his\her religion and as well as others.
So when u hear a person criticize another religion , it means that they don't really bother about their own so no need to get mad about it! instead learn from it ,broaden ur horizon, belief and practice!

Hmm.

If someone is saying something that you know to be false, would you calmly just sit there and keep quiet? Or, would you speak what you know to be the truth?

Is it "disrespect" to spread the truth? I think not.

Is it "criticizing others" to spread the truth? Again, I think not.

The simple truth of the matter is that there is but ONE true God, and salvation of the eternal soul thru His Son, Jesus.

I don't begrudge others their beliefs, or hatefully criticize them. But don't you think, since you call yourself a Christian, that your highest calling, in love, is to share with them that you'd like to have them join you in heaven? I don't mean that we should be offensive when talking to non-believers. I mean sharing the truth in love. Matthew 28:19

I think it isnt that they want to, I know a lot of different people that are hypocritical, like christians thats what im trying to say, but even though people say stupid things, you have to believe in what you learned, its not bad to go to different churches study different things because it broadens your thoughts, I think that a lot of people have this strict belief so their just trying to live up to what they believe!!
just trust in what u believe!!

I was a christian, I still am now but it's just that I adopt other religious beliefe equally along with christianity. I cannot live in just one simple manner, in order for me to understand others I must accept what they also believe in.

I am on your side. Don't attack me.
I try to do all the things you say. I agree with you.

I have NEVER told anyone they were going to hell.

What makes me really sad is that I have defended atheists many times and have still been told that I am unworthy of any respect at all. I have been told that I deserve to be ridiculed and humiliated because of my beliefs.
