Wow, I am sorry to hear what happened to your dog. I imagine that it is awful when an animal is missing. If he has all of the things that you say (phone number, collar etc.), then chances are good that he will be returned to you. If I were you, I'd alert my friends and neighbors that he's missing, put out some flyers and post a "lost dog" ad in the local paper. From what he did, I think that he is a very active dog and if anything tries to get after him, they'd have their hands full especially being that he's large. He weighs far more than those skinny mangy foxes so I wouldn't worry about that too much (easier said than done i know). Also, he isn't a puppy anymore...he has enough sense to get out of the way of a car if there's enough time. I will be rooting for your dog and I believe that things will turn out fine.

Calm down! First someone needs to stay at home in case he comes home or in case someone calls the number on his dog tag...(if just the vets number is on it they can still get your home phone number because of the number on the rabies tag. Vet enters number on rabies tag and it will give the vet your name and number and then the vet may call.) I have found a stray dog before and this was how I found his owners!
next....put some steaks or burgers or liver or something on the grill.....doggy smells food....doggy comes home! ( Doesn't hurt to call for him a few times while steaks are cooking to help entice him to come home)
PS if he hasn't been fixed yet it may take more than a week for him to come home - until the ****** is not in heat anymore. DON'T give up. I called for my dog one time for a full week until I lost my voice and then I saw an ad in the paper where someone twenty miles away had found a dog that matched the description of my dog...I drove to their house and sure enough it was my dog....don't forget to put it in the paper and make flyers if he doesn't come home by nightfall.

Call your vet or whatever shelter or organization he is microchipped through. They may already have him? Drive around the area looking for him, call neighbors who may have seen him. Call animal control and make sure they don't already have him. Use every available outlet. And designate one person to stay at the house in case he comes back on his own, they can alert you to that.

Activate his chip( so it will be on the LOST LIST) and notify the law, area Vet's if he happens to come in there.
Keep up the search for him. Husky's on the run/prowl/hunt love to be noisy. Keep looking around. Mainly, he knows where HOME is and I pray for you, your family that he comes home after he finishes playing.
Keep driving around on the roads, but search in the woods to. Chances are, he took up the hills. He'll hear you calling and head back. Get friends, family involved!
Good Luck on his safe return. I'm praying for that!

Do you have a local humane society or dog pound you can call? Keep looking, put an ad in the paper, call local radio programs, enlist friends to help, and pray. Good luck!

I have a Doberman, and she's micro chipped too... They told us that if she ever goes missing, to call our vet ASAP, and let them know, and they can locate the general area that she's in. Also, when dogs leave, they usually come back when they get hungry. It's the only place they know of to get food and water... So try not to worry too much, call your vet and let them know shes missing, and go drive around, and ask people if they've seen her.
don't worry, i'm sure you'll find her.
good luck

Okay, breathe. Contact the police immediatly. Powerful dogs are often stolen by criminals to fight them, so the police must be notified immediatly. Most likely, your dog is chipped, so anyone who recovers him will have your info. You should take a pic of him and make fliers, talk to your neighbors. If you get him back, you should know that you should never tie a dog outside. Good luck.

Dogs that big are actually quite smart especially a husky, He just wanted to venture out. If he gets picked up vets and pounds have scanners that will see the chip and he'll be home after his little vacation.
You might want to think about a fenced kennel ir a logging chain..

Call the local dispatcher. Maybe the police can keep their eye out for him while they are patrolling the area... Its scary I know get off the computer and stay outside with a cordless phone and it wont hurt putting some treats in your pocket just in case you need to entice him to come to you. Good Luck!!!!
