Probably the same Liberal jerk that keeps reporting my questions.I've read the guidelines and I don't ask questions that are a violation.
Oh how they preach "free speech".I guess they mean "free to speak" if you agree with them.

I don't think that thumbs down are a personal vendetta against me, and so I don't let it bother me. Others are perfectly within their rights to disagree with my thinking, and whether they give me a thumbs up or thumbs down is immaterial. Sometimes I have wondered which part of my answer they disagreed with, but it really isn't important. I give the best answer that I can without regard to how someone else might view it. The number of thumbs up or down has no bearing on whether one's answer is selected as the best answer. Besides, this is just Y!A; it isn't crucial to our lives one way or the other.

I doubt if there's a way to find out. I usually just say something politely profane (to myself of course) and then go on about my business. Like I always say - if you don't have someone who dislikes you, then you're not doing it right.

Hey - I just noticed that someone went through and gave everyone a thumbs down, so I went back through and gave everyone a thumbs up. Y'all enjoy now.

I don't think it's possible to find this out, but I know what you mean. Sometimes they are given for a sensible helpful and honest answer, and it is difficult to see why someone would want to do this. It's not playing the game. It must be cowardly people doing it, hiding behind the anonimity, and protecting the fact that they have little brains! It's a shame, but don't be disheartened by it.

I do it when the answer is either stupid, or wrong.

Now mind you, I only answer questions to which I have the correct answer for.

When it happens to me, I really don't care, as the 'thumbs up' are usually greater than the 'thumbs down'.

I've not used the thumbs before. Thank for refreshing me on that. You bring up a good point.

Just like when people answer foolishly just try accumulate points by saying nothing.

I agree. Lots of folks just give thumbs down to raise their own answer. As a habit, for the best answer(s), I only try to give thumbs ups.

I think that its usually people who don't like the question to begin with. Theres no way to find out who is doing it, its just one of those things in life (or on yahoo answers life).
