I disagree with your pastor. The right job for you is already there. You should ask for spiritual guidance to find it. Can we really ask God to do more than what he has already done? Can we possibly inform God of something? I don't think so. Realize the answer is already available. God has done enough, now we must do our part.

It's easy for your pastor to say not to want...he HAS a job! Sorry, but I disagree with him. God commands each of us to work...heck, it is one of the 10 commandments (for six days you shall do your work but on the seventh you shall rest).
Nothing wrong with praying for God to open doors so you can have the job HE wants you to have. Just be careful not to get in his way by putting too many limits on what you're willing to do. He may have a career in mind for you that's very different from what you imagine. I thought I would end up working for a corporation in human resources after I got my degree...but I put it in his hands and now I'm a college professor! Far better career (and life) than I ever imagined for myself...the perfect "single mom" job...better money AND flexibility than I'd have found if I followed my path....I've never needed to put my son in full-time daycare...and I get about 20 weeks of paid vacation per year!!!

I don't know about what pastor said, or what God he prays to, but my God is a giving one, and wants us to prosper and be happy. So Asking God for help in achieving needs is not a bad thing to do. I think Jesus said, Whoever asks in my father's name, it will be given. (Something along those lines)
Ask away, but you must also do all the foot work too. And when he answers your needs, make sure to give back to others (minimum of 10% or More).

No, I don't think you are wrong, considering all the hard work you did in order to get well educated. You deserve to be a little picky however, you may take a job as a temporary, until the right job comes along. Doesn't seem greedy, no.

Your pastor is tripping. There is nothing wrong for praying for a job. that is something that you need, money. God knows that we need money. your pastor is wack. just don't pray to win to lotto, but just pray for blessings from God. God will be made at you for not doing anything. God does like laziness, if you are not going to work then you got to spend your time praying and worshipping God.

Well you probably want to ask God to help give you the abilities and opportunities to find a good job - you know, be willing to do your part too in this.
I think God wants us to be self-reliant and seeking to be so is a noble thing. Not to mention he doesn't want us to be idol either.
So, keep praying, sharpen up your resume, and keep searching. The job market is actually in the employee's favor these days; you should be able to find something fairly quickly.

It's not wrong it's just stupid to expect God to find a job for you. Get off your sorry butt and find you a job. That is unless you plan to become an Evangelist preacher. God could be of help there. And there is pretty good money in that.
Good luck.

I think it would not be wrong, however, you really should apply for some jobs, get interviews and do a lot of work after all, God expects us to use our intelligence and capabilities too. As you do this you can pray about directions you should take.

no it's not wrong but you do know that you have to do donation or some good deed when you get a job because you asked for his help. Yes reality is nothing free

2Th 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
2Th 3:11 For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
2Th 3:12 Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.
2Th 3:13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
2Th 3:14 And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
2Th 3:15 Yet count [him] not as an enemy, but admonish [him] as a brother.
