In Montana if you get 30 points in 3 years you become a “Habitual Offender.” This is independent of turning 18 during that time. Also, A Montana license to drive may be suspended if you get 20 points for disobeying traffic laws and rules. You can get a copy of your Montana Driving Record ($4.00) through the Montana Driver Record and Control (406- 444-3292).

Not anymore. It used to be that after 7 years, I believe, violations dropped off your record. I think it was July 1, 2006 when the new law went into effect saying that all violations will stay on your record for life.

Do the right thing - pay your fines.

If Montana is anything like my state, you will not be able to renew your driver's license until those fines are paid.
