Went to the doctors today and my blood pressure was 108/80
I was wondering what the numbers mean and is my pressure good? I am 24, slim and a female if that helps!

This means you have a very good, healthy blood pressure. Don't worry about it unless the numbers go up higher, like 140/90. That is considered an elevation and reason to medicate.

P.S. Some one has it backwards on an earlier answer. The top number is systolic, that is the pressure in your veins when the heart is pumping. Diastolic is the bottom number, that is the pressure between heartbeats when the heart is at rest.

108/80 is actually very good.

Normal is regarded as 120/80 but lower down to 90/60 is much better than higher up to 140/90.

In normal adults the systolic(the first number) should be less than 120. And the diastolic should be around 80. Medline below link should tell you anything else you want to know

It's pretty low. It's not bad though. Don't worry about it. Normal is 120/80, prehypertension is 130/90 or something like that. So don't even consider it.

it's normal....the "norm is 120/80, but when you are young, a little lower is a good thing- high is def. not.

but don't be alarmed at a high b/p just one time- b/p should be taking for most purposes at a relaxed/sitting down position. your b/p rises for a bunch of things- fear, excursion...eating salty crap.....it lowers too, so it's never the same two numbers- your B/p should be "on average."

The top number is the diastyloic- bottom is systyloic(sp) The top number normally increases with increased physical activity.

Normal is 120/80 but its ok to be lower than that.
