My question concerning a lawsuit against the Mormon church for failure to report child abuse was deleted. Who was so threatened by my question that they reported it. I'd be willing to bet someone from the church had this brought to their attention they filed multiple complaints on it, but we'll see what Yahoo has to say.

Plato: I was Mormon, and I was abused, and my bishop didn't report it as he should have, and I know there are many other bishops who have. That is why I am focusing on Mormon's , because that was my experience. I never said, this is only an issue with Mormons.

I know it wasn't me.
Damm! I had a killer answer to that question, too!
I think that everyone needs to understand that this question, and the precedent one, is not an attack on the Mormons. It is a statement of experience, an inquiry on how to handle that experience, and background information that could be pertinent. Please understand that.

I am actually going to answer your original question first.
It is true that any type of abuse is to be reported to the authorities by officers of the church (namely bishops, stake presidents, etc.). There is one kink in this that can prevent the bishop or any other person with a calling in the priesthood. That is if the abuser is the one coming to the bishop to confess his sin. It is then that the bishop is required to keep it to himself, but I believe that he will advise the person to go to the authorities, also to ask for forgiveness from the abused family member/s. He/she will most likely be disfellowshipped or excommunicated if the sin persist. If the sin does persist, then it is up to the bishop of the ward to exercise his duties as a citizen and report it to the police. He first has a duty to God, then a duty man.
For your second question:
I do not know who had your first question deleted, but you are talking about suing a faith that holds it's duties to God very seriously. Courts have thrown out lawsuits like these in the past, because it violates the 1st Amendment of the Constitution. The U.S. Constitution has precedence over state laws and lawsuits.

First of all - I'm sorry for your experience. Some bishops fail to read their handbook of instructions thoroughly so that they understand what they need to do. There are procedures in place which should have been followed for you to receive comfort and hopefully restitution - spiritual and lawful. Unfortunately, in this day and age, abuse in its many forms has become rampant and widespread. I, too, was a victim of sexual abuse at a young age - it didn't involve anyone at church - it was someone within my own family. Ultimately, the only way I have found the strength to overcome it and forgive the offender was through the love and atoning sacrifice of my Savior. I know in recent years, the Mormon church has taken strides to improve the leadership training so that fewer 'cases' fall between the cracks. I hope that someday you will be able to fully heal.
Best wishes

Mr. "Friendly"
You were probably reported because you keep asking the same stupid question over and over. That is a violation of community guidelines. Oh wait no you are probably right- it is a big Mormon conspiracy trying to silence you. Believe what you will.
Good luck with that lawsuit though- I bet you will find this is not as big of an issue as you think it is.
You really do sound like such a friendly person too.
BTW- I did not report you.

It was yahoo staff that got it deleted - and don't expect any answers from *them*.
* Anybody can report any question or answer.
* There is no penalty for misreporting
* Yahoo staff has about 4 seconds to figure out if any complaint has merit
* Too many violations and your email account gets deleted.
Conclusion: We're all idiots for posting here.

It was probably reported because it violated Community Guidelines. If it was similar to the one you just posted today (Friday), the fact is, that's a solicitation, a private communication, and not the sort of thing Yahoo! Answers is about.

It might have been a person who is sick to death of Mormon bashers, and jack@sses, who think it is cute, to ask a question about everything they have ever heard about that church, good or bad!
Don't you @ssholes ever sleep?
By the way, it wasn't me! I would have just told you what a sleeze bag you were! child abuse occurs is EVERY church, not just this one, or the catholic church! it could happen in the Baptist church as well, probably has!
Don't be so damned quick to judge! Or you could find yourself onthe other side of it!

It wasn't me, but I hate that crap. People report you for almost anything. I had an account locked because people didn't like my honest answers.
It even says in the rules that you will come across things that you don't agree with and might be controversial
