The questioner should consider researching secular publications at a library, rather than via a random internet search. Here are several encyclopedias which comment upon Jehovah's Witnesses.
New Catholic Encyclopedia: “They [Jehovah's Witnesses] regard the Bible as their only source of belief and rule of conduct.”
New Catholic Encyclopedia: "[Jehovah's Witnesses are] one of the best-behaved groups in the world.”
Encyclopedia of Religion: “all that they [Jehovah's Witnesses] believe is based on the Bible. They ‘proof text’ (that is, supply a biblical citation to support) almost every statement of faith, taking for granted the authority of the Bible, which entirely supplants tradition.”
The Modern Encyclopedia of Russian and Soviet History, volume 15 (1987): “Hitler passionately loathed the Jehovists and imprisoned perhaps 10,000 of them ...The psychologically impervious Witnesses withstood German concentration camps better than most ...The Soviet government has never permitted the Jehovah’s Witnesses a legal existence
Enciclopedia del Novecento, edited by the Institute of the Italian Encyclopedia: “...since Secretary of State cardinal Pacelli (later pope Pius XII) looked favorably on the anti-Bolshevik aspect of the Third Reich... the churches... avoided absolutely uttering a word against the persecution of Jews and Jehovah’s Witnesses”—Volume IV, page 519.

Greetings, Just ask a reasonable question on some specific topic or scripture and you will see some of that extensive research!!!! Instead, the very fact that you only ask a prejudicial question reflecting your personal bias tells us that you know we can support our beliefs with irrefutable research!! The very fact that Witnesses changed some beliefs in the past and continue to adjust minor understandings proves that we do extensive research. On the other hand, as a rule, EVERY other religion refuses to even accept the research of their own scholars when their doctrines are disproved by that research! Yours, BAR-ANERGES EDIT: Sorry "Tom," your logic is flawed and thus your assertions are false. Why do you think there were the several changes made to the understanding regarding Sodom and even what the "generation" was?!! It was because individuals kept researching and wrote the Society with their views!!! No, we don't rebel over such non-essential understandings because that would be stupid. But, we can and do continue to deeply research even the most obscure details. What we have found is that ALL our research has irrefutably confirmed the doctrinal beliefs as taught by the modern day Christian Governing Body. That is why you do not see major changes in our beliefs anymore and also why people like you must over-exaggerate any recent changes! "Snakeman's" contentions are also false. There are several here on Y/A who gained an accurate knowledge of doctrine by just reading the Bible. But, it is clear that God has ALWAYS used humans to teach others correctly. You might also ask why the Ethiopian Eunuch or Apollos "could not come to an complete knowledge by "just reading the Bible"?!!! Such a question is illogical and irrelevant.

I'm not quite sure if that is the full name or just a part of it..?...
EDIT:
I went to the site provided by 'izofblu' and read the news articles from CNN, USA Today,& the Christian paper,

There is no third party positive support. The JWs are a cult and cults usually don't have any outside supporters. Think Jim Jones, David Koresh, Heaven's Gate, Solar Temple, isolated membership, rumors of child molestation, encouraged to be under educated, what's to be positive about them.
