Sure. Look at the original Martin Luther. He was a Catholic priest that wanted to marry, but the church told him no. So, she started his own religion and married.

Believe it or not, many religions have universal elements that are true. Some examples are not killing others, stealing, etc.
More include compassion and love (though, not practiced as per today's shithole).
BELIEFS, like how everything started, are what differ. It's best to view all religions and take all the shared elements and study where those originated. Compassion goes against natural selection. Meditation was the commonality I found

sure why not, there are about 150,000 of them in the US.
We don't need religion, we need to come together as the Body of Christ, in Spirit and in Truth according to God's word, and not some organization's idea about what the word is.
Just like the tower of babel, there are many churches that go their own way. But there is really only one body of CHrist, the true eternal church of believers.

Of course.
I would suggest however doing it much the way christianity has though. They took from previous religions only what worked. Then over time they have reinvented themselves periodically. Only fight against those things that can't be proved. And when they can be proved absorb them and reinvent yourself.
A great example is the eventual absorption of evolution into christianity. We're living in a fascinating time when many of us will see a major reinvention of christianity.
It has struggled against evolution for decades and we're seeing now a slowly creeping movement to absorb it into christian belief.
