In public places? No. Women have the right to where what they want when they are out shopping, running errands or going out to party. Where it should be banned is at work places and businesses where the proper attire is usually mandatory. I had to train several ladies once who came to my office from out of town. It was a huge distraction trying to explain to this lovely lady exactly how I process business reports for the company. Besides being beautiful with mesmorizing eyes, she also wore a low cut shirt that showed the goodies. I studdard throughout the presentation and tried hard to focus on the screen and not on the woman. It was hard. This wouldn't have bothered me at all if she was in a mall, at the movies or at an amusement park. This would equivalent to a man wearing a muscle shirt with the top 3 buttons open to work. See where I'm coming from? Women do not need to where low cut shirts or skirt to work to be sexy. They can easily where fully covered close that fit slightly snug and still be presentable to men and women alike.

What!, the law is getting to personal. Begininning to infringe on peoples rights like the law in Beverly Hills that bans people from smoking in public. I mean come on, I'm not a smoker but shouldn't they be able to at least smoke on the sidewalk, they already can't smoke in the restaurants, and now I'm hearing that they want to regulate this if people live in apartment buildings as well. But I digress, If women want to show cleavage, it's their perogative, I mean don't walk around with nipple tassles but a little cleavage is very sexy.
Now I do agree that there are places where it is not appropriate, like at work, if it's a professional setting, or if you work with children, but if you are out on the town hey that's your deal. And I don't buy that whols thing that men go stupid, yes I know that there are beautiful women out there much more beautiful than I, and when I am with my boyfriend, all I ask is that he respect the fact that he's with me and not oogle them in front of me. The point is I've seen some really hot women when we are out at the movies or something, and he is able to control himself, even if he does take a sneak peak when I am not looking. Look we are all going to look, even women can admire another womans beauty. Bottom line, people allow themselves to get distracted, look away and get back to what you were doing before you saw the boobage, against popular opinion, I do beleive that there are some men who are still smarter, and have more control than that.

Sorry hun but i know its not fair but the law simply states that as long as a women does not distract any males to her than she can walk around topless also she can breastfeed in public if she wanted to. I know some stores and places require a shirt but sometimes a women can wear a bikini and they won't say anything. I know its wrong i have kids to and they don't need to see it but there really is not to much that you can do and fighting the sytem will be hard.

Excessive cleavage should definitely be banned in the professional work place. People do not take you as seriously and I know that a lot of women have been harassed and promoted as a result of it. I would rather get my job on my merit than by unleashin' the ladies. Save it for the clubs and/or bedroom!

I think that is a very interesting article. I also just read a study/article about how it is physically impossible for a man not to look at an attrative woman, and how that 'vision' can pop up in their mind at any time of day.
I think it is important for us women to keep that in mind and take our fellow guy's consideration in mind. You can dress nicely and feel good about yourself and still leave a little to the imagination.
=)

No. I don't think it's as much of a problem as this guy is making it out to be. It should be dealt with on an individual basis. This sounds incredibly sexist. It should not be. It should be addressed under the guidelines of professional dress for men and women. Most professionals understand this. More often it is the young and inexperienced that haven't gotten it yet.

I think men and women both need to learn how to act as adults regarding the issue. Women who wear revealing clothing need to understand that it will attract attention, and be willing to deal with both the positive and negative reprecussions of that. And men must learn to go ahead with their work, and not make excuses based on a woman's dress.

I agree with the article. I understand that women want to be sexy but like the article says there IS a time and place for it. To answer your question, yes! Women should dress for respect!

Get over it and grow up. There should be more cleavage out there. Personally I'm gonna start wearing tight shorts with holes in them and show some ball cleavage! Alright!
But seriously, that article was the most retarded thing I have ever read. Yes, all us men become vacant, drooling cavemen when an attractive woman passes by. It's absolutely ridiculous and insulting to me personally. I mean sure, you notice cleavage but personally I only turn my attention to it if I'm bored! If people really have this problem of being unable to look away from cleavage then I pity you and maybe you should get some therapy.
