A conviction is not necessary for excluding someone like this. Drug charges are not good. This person could very well be removed from the U.S. and be prohibited from returning.

This is a serious offense because he had the ability to reach so many others. Although you say the drugs were the property of his friend, this is a lame defense in a court of law. He will do years of jail time. I doubt any lawyer would be able to get him off a crime of this caliber. The fact he was even associated with a drug dealer is a problem. This is why open borders do not work in America-Too many of your "friends" are coming across. Be thankful you were not arrested as an accomplice. You should also look for a better quality of friends/boyfriend!

It's a strike, 3 is life. felony in California. If found guilty, his visa will be revoked. After he serves his 5- 10 year sentence he will be immediately be deported and never again allowed in the US. don't do the crime if you cant do the time. What a wasted life.

Hmmmm. You are who your friends are. This should be a lesson in growing up in America. Perhaps he should turn over on the people in his car since they were not really his friends huh? Or maybe he's lying to you? What do you think?

Forget him, visa or not, he's gone. Not just that, he'll be banned for life from coming back.
If he's lucky all that will happen is getting deported. If he's unlucky he'll get convicted and serve time in prison before his deportation.

If you have a green card it can be revoked for a felony. Being accused and being convicted are two different things, but a felony is a felony.

being arrested isn't the issue. getting convicted is the main issue. obtaining good counsel is also an issue. speak to legal aid. if you are not happy with the attorney provided, try telling the judge. try asking your embassy for advice. a conviction will probably mean incarceration and deportation.
