It disproves the biblical story of genesis.
It doesn't pose any problems for religions that do NOT make supernatural claims about natural phenomena.

Evolution does disprove God because it disproves the Genesis story in the Bible that allegedly was written/inspired by God. If God is wrong then God is not all knowing. If God is not all knowing then he is not all powerful, and so onand so on. The Bible states it took 6 literal days (24 hour periods) to create the universe/world and everything in it. If this is not the case (which it isn't) then God doesn't exist.
Those christians who believe in evolution AND god have some major issues to iron out. You are basically making the Christian religion an ala carte menu.

It doesn't disprove the existence of God. It just disproves that all parts of the Bible can be taken literally by showing that the Garden of Eden story in Genesis was not an accurate depiction of the origins of humanity.
Evolution also provides an explanation for the origins of life on Earth without the necessity of there having been a creator. This fact invalidates one of the common arguments used to try and prove the existence of God, (the teleological argument).
So, evolution does not disprove the existence of God, it just removes one reason for the belief that a god must exist. There are other arguments for the existence of a god or gods, however.
The fact that evolution shows that the Bible cannot be considered to be perfectly accurate and literal is considered a problem by some protestant denominations. Those denominations claim that their faith is based completely on the Bible. So, if the Bible is shown to be incorrect, that would also imply that their faith is incorrect.
Protestant churches that don't claim to be 100% Bible based tend not to view evolution as a threat to their belief systems. This is also true with the Catholic church, which claims its beliefs are based partially on scriptures, but also on ancient traditions and the authority of the apostolic succession.

The Biblical creation thoughts do no longer tournament evolution or cosmology in any way. The YEC time line is predicated on the genealogies recorded interior the Bible, which if shown to be incorrect, capability that the Bible is inaccurate approximately saying that it particularly is infallible. Then too, it is not purely evolution that exhibits that the Bible isn't superb. all of us be conscious of the worldwide flood and the tower of Babel did no longer take place. no longer in basic terms did the exodus tale no longer take place, yet there is very much of info displaying that the Hebrew way of existence stepped forward interior the Canaanite highlands and slowly unfolded from there. Edit: Theologically, evolution being genuine motives fairly some issues that theistic evolutionists sweep decrease than the rug. working example, it exhibits that unique sin and the clarification and choose for blood sacrifices and finally Jesus' sacrifice is baseless and arbitrary. This maximum actual calls the character of God into question.

It doesn't disprove a God. However, it provides an alternate (IMO superior) explanation for the diversity of life on Earth. Furthermore, it disproves a literal reading of Genesis, and casts doubt on the existence of Adam and Eve as progenitors of the human race, which puts the lie to the Original Sin thing, which makes Jesus' sacrifice pretty much pointless, if it occurred at all, and that Tabernacle of Cards turns into 52-pickup.

Not at all. God created evolution, it simply follows on from the Natural Laws He set in place to provide a structure for things.
Those who think that the first two chapters in Genesis were meant to be taken literally are only helping those who use a literal interpretation to disprove it with Science.
For example, KGV, in 1:27 it says (the brackets are mine) So God create man(generic) in his own image, in the image of God created he him(end of generic); male and female created he them(multiple)
The story of Adam and Eve was a specific example of what would befall them (all those that he had previously created) at a different level and was not meant to taken literaly either.

It really doesn't.
Most preists will tell you that genesis is an allegory.
My atheism came well after I started believing in evolution,
edit: for an interesting take on God and the evolutionary process, read Waiting for the Intergalactic Bus. I forget the author, but its a good read.

I think there were evolutionary processes. But since I am very sure through personal experience that God exists (christian faith) I think the theory as it stands does not allow for God to adjust it, obviate it and so on. For instance, it is currently thought that changes in genes due to combination from parents and through random alterations makes changes ('survival of the fittest' determining the best variants). Actually God could at any stage have tweaked a creature's DNA, or upgraded it, without anyone ever being to prove that He had or hadn't. The current theory assumes God is not involved at all - a wrong assumption.

It doesn't. The process of evolution discards creationist accounts of our existence. Thats all.
It moves ahead whether people believe in god or not, and with no regard to religion whatsoever. Just like in nature.
The reason so many Christian Creationists are focused on Evolution is because it contradicts the first book of the Bible. When the first book is proven to be false, it brings the rest of the book into question... which would threaten their simplistic views on reality.

When was evolution proven? Last i knew it is a theory. The Theory of evolution. Get it? Theories don't prove or disprove anything. It really boils down to what you believe
