I was going to answer this question by the OP, but now i'll adress some of the people who claim "Global Warming is Real!"
1st: Yes Global Warming exsists.
2nd: Yes Global Cooling exsists.
With these two premises i can explain away all the global climate changes of the last million+ years. However, all you people want to add a new cause to the effect. Humans. Wrong answer. You take Humans out of the equaiton you still have global warming and global cooling. Volcanos and Burning forests put off More CO2 than all humans since the dawn of man. So there for we must stop all volcanos! and cut down the forest.
Mars is warming. It's temperature has gone up along with earths. It must be the EXTRA CO2 from earth that is causing it. Oh wait it's the Sun. Any idiot with a brain can destroy man made global warming. It's when you ignore the multitude of causes and blame 1 thing that you become a bumbling idiot. Global warming being man made idiots have 1 cause for global warming man. I've just given two and to remove man made causes still will give you global warming. Any logical person knows to remove one cause yet still have the same effect means that the removed cause has nothing to do with the effect. Remove man and you still have global warming. Man is not the cause. And also .5 degres celcius since 1885. That is not drmatic by any stretch of the imaginiation. Over 50% of which occured during the 1930's when CO2 lvls where lower than today.

A natural cycle? Could you explain the natural cycles that lead to warming and cooling? Clearly not as any person with an understanding of them knows that no possible natural cycle or combination of cycles could lead to the unprecendented warming that is currently being experienced.

With all due respect, may I suggest you study your subject matter in advance of making ill informed comments.

As to whether Gore should have received the award... he was one of many worthy contenders. I'm not a Gore fan but his has done more than any other individual to bring the subject of global warming into the public arena and that is something that can only be beneficial to the whole of humanity and the earth in general.

Al Gore never claimed to have invented the Internet. The man who did invent it, Vin Cerf, has said that Gore's actual statements fairly represent Gore's contribution to developing the Internet into what it is today. Proof:

Note that Gore shares the Nobel with the IPCC. Together they deserve it, the IPCC for proving that global warming is real, and Gore for making that known to the world.
