Jesus who?

2007-10-12 05:28:51 · answer #1 · answered by JimmyNeutron85 2 · 3 7

I always thought that Jesus went to hell as the last of everyone having to go there for the original sin. An interesting thought is that Satan often talked with God in heaven as sited by the bible. Obviously there are a lot of things in heaven's going on's that we are not privy to and I do wonder if God could visit Satan in hell or does on a regular basis. God being a perfect being would not be touched by hell's flames and neither should Jesus other than perhaps by the fire purging the original sin. So maybe three days is how long it takes for the original sin to be purged. Personally I believe that Satan has many faces one of which is the father of lies prince of evil gig, the other side is as the prosecutor of man which I am pretty sure is somewhere in the bible. Jesus was born a man but in more modern thoughts he would have been part God so maybe the days for a normal person to purge original sin is 6 days and three days for a part diety. Hopefully this post urges more thought.

A very small part from the Council of Trent

In the first part of the is article, then, we professed that the immediately after the death of Christ His soul descend into hell,and dwelt there as along as His body remained in the tomb; and also that one Person of Christ was at the same time in hell and in sepulchre, nor should this excite surprise; for, as we have already frequently said, although His soul was separated from His body, His divinity was never parted either His soul or His body....

Hell, then here signifies those secret abodes in which are detained the souls that have not obtained the happiness of heaven. In this sense the word is frequently used in Scripture. Thus the Apostles says: at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, of those that are in heaven, on earth, and in hell. And in the Acts of the Apostles St. Peter says that Christ the Lord is again risen, having loosed the sorrows of hell.

Jesus is the son of God, he was sent by his father to
prepare for us a place in heaven! he is the second
person of the Holy Trinity, Then came the Holy Spirit,
which is one and the same God. After Jesus came
his Holy Spirit! then! and is also here now, we know
it is God when we make the sign of the Cross. The
devil Don't do that, he runs from the Cross, and it is
the by the sign of the Holy Cross that he was thrust into
Hell! he and his Legion of Devils! We know God by our
deeds in this life Good! shows itself! so does Evil!

No, Jesus NEVER claimed to be God! On The Day Of Judgment he will be asked about it, and he will say that he never said that which he has no right to say.
It is Paul, and others after him who claimed Jesus was God.

Jesus did not say that He claims to be God, but instead He claimed to be the SON of God. So Jesus didn't.

No, He sent the captives free, those who believed in Him. He also holds the keys. Read

Matthew 27:51-53 KJV
(51) And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
(52) And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
(53) And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

Ephesians 4:8-10 KJV
(8) Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
(9) (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
(10) He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

Revelation 1:18 KJV
(18) I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

no, but he was crucified for it.

claiming he was god is equating himself with the emporer of rome in terms of importance.

that is absurdly insulting to the honorable and noble tiberius augustus ceasar. So much so that jesus might as well have gone up to him and urinated on his wife (first one) in full view of 100 people then doing the same to his son drusus.

No. That would imply Christ committed sin, which we know he
did not.......

Hebrews 4
14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

He went there to preach the Gospel.........
John 5
25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live..

1 Peter 3
18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;

1 Peter 4
6 For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

What, preaching in hell? I thought they were stuck there forever?

Revelations 20
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

David who committed grievous sins knew this
Acts 2
27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.
29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.
30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

Jesus went to hell because he IS God, the only one who could go there and return, giving the people there a chance for salvation.

jesus(peace be upon him ) never claimed divinity for himself ,it is only the later christian scholars who made him a "GOD"and it they who may have to end up in hell for teaching the blasphemies like the "concepts of trinity",and the "begotten son".
