A few days ago I answered a question about if you liked Pushing Daisies. I answered that I did not because the narrative was irritating and I did not finish watching the first episode, others said they did not like the show. When the asker chose best answer she wrote "The show appealed to people that read and write well and the dialogue might be too fast, too inventive for some." So are you smart enough to watch and those of you that didn't like the show do you think it is because you are not smart enough to watch or could it be you just think the show stinks?

I liked it. I laughed. I get a kick out of quirky witty stuff and this is right up my alley. But I'm a big fan of Tim Burtons movies which this show reminds me off.

I don't think its an intelligence thing....just a sense of humor thing.
I can't stand sitcoms....so my sense of humor is a bit off kilter.

But some of the quirkier comebacks some of my friends have missed....the exchange about her attacking the window treatments....not your average statement.

And truthfully, I was leery even after the first one but when they started singing Hoplessly Devoted in the second I was hooked.

How can one show determines one's intelligence? Is not about wits of watching ANY shows, it matters if you watch tv period. Are you smart enough to get off the couch to go do something active or dumb enough to be a couch potato? It is just that some shows that fascinate and catch the viewers' eyes while some don't. It depends on the genre like for example like seeing a movie, I would rather chose horror movies over some chick flick. I like watching Pushing Daisies and I'm not that really smart. It's tv and it's for the public and not aimed for a specific group to watch. Everybody has their own opinions of the shows. And that was my opinion. See, even me writing this is not very smart because I don't specifically elaborate my details and points and I'm just over the place.

I think it is taste rather than intelect or good or bad TV on the whole. Bad TV would be that new vampire cop show where you cant get into the characters at all. For me I originally thought the daisy show would be stupid just based on the premise, but i was at work and bored off my butt and watched it on ABC.com just while i ate lunch. I have to say it was like a little vacation for my brain. It reminded me of reading a fun little book just to escape into it. the narrative made me think of the Princess Bride in a way or a corny Ferris Bueller - sometimes you need someone to state the obvious over your shoulder. Great TV - NO, fun, mindless entertainment - YES.

I don't think intelligence is needed - now for Journeyman or Dr Who you need to be intelligent...

I loved it! And yes I read alot. Maybe the narrative would appeal to someone who reads more than someone who doesn't read often. I can't say I 100% agree that the show would only have intelligent viewers. But I do think that generally unimaginative people would get bored by the show.
