Yes, muscle weighs more than fat and according to the Atkin's diet book if the program is followed to the letter you burn fat to lose weight. Keep measurements of your waist to be sure you are losing fat.

yes its possible. Atkins, when done properly will help you lose fat. the high protein diet will help built muscle which weighs more than fat giving you a little weight but more definition and possibly smaller size. To be sure take a few measurements. Remember with Atkins its important to follow it and add the fruit and veggies. You cant stay healthy without them. to me its how you feel and then how you look thats important not really the actual number in pounds

yes could be losing inches but not pounds. I am really surprised that you haven't lost any weight. How long have you been on it? I lost 4 to 5 lbs evry week when I did the diet. You might want to make sure there's not some other reason for the weight staying on, or it just might be that this isn't the right diet for your body. Also, make sure you're doing it correctly. Certain foods aren't allowed when you first start the diet because they can keep you from losing those first pounds. Nuts, and fruits in particular aren't allowed for the first two weeks. If you ate those during the first two weeks and are still eating them that may contribute to your not losing pounds.
However, if you are losing inches, that's great. I lost 15 lbs and my clothes were really starting to not fit me because I had lost more inches the whole time.
'Good Luck!'

If you have built any muscle it is possible. I would suggest though to get off of the Atkins diet and just eat frequent, sensible meals of smaller portions. Combine that with exercise and you have found your perfect "diet". The Atkins diet will only provide temporary results and is not healthy for you in the long run.
Good luck!

Yes it is VERY possible. You are losing body fat and gaining muscle. Pound for pound muscle weighs MORE than fat ! In a short while you will probably drop 5-10 pounds at once!!! Don't give up. Please be safe with it and eat at least 20 to 30 carbs a day. If you don't, your body will go into "starvation mode" and it makes losing much harder and way less healthy. (hint) make most of your carbs "whole wheat" . you get a power packed healthy punch and i am sure you may know this but you can subtract all fiber grams from the total carbs in any and each serving !! Best of luck.

A pound of fat takes up more space than a pound of muscle. So if you lost 10 lbs of fat, and gained 10 lbs of muscle, you would definitely be slimmer. If you have been more active, your body has compensated by gaining some muscle.
Done right, one reduces carb calories and adds back some fat calories. WIth a net calorie change of zero, you would not lose weight. Cut your fat calories down a little, add a little more exercise, and you should manage to lose some weight and re-shape yourself.
Don't worry about gaining a little muscle. Some shapely muscle on a woman is beautiful, especially compared to shapeless bulging lumps of blubber.
Look at Queen Latifa. Very big woman, very attractive. Not much inappropriately jiggly flesh.
Good luck.

How closely are you following it? How long ? You don't give enough information for a proper reply.
Yes to the "is this possible" question. If you are following fairly closely. A pound of fat takes up lots more volume than a pound of muscle. You could have lost 1 or 2 pounds and feel thinner.
Fat does not turn to muscle.EVER! They 're two different types of cell.
Fat on yuor body is a type of storage system for energy. Burning it is good.
Remember to exercise and take a daily vitamen and mineral supplement.
Fat does not turn to muscle. EVER.

Fat and muscle weigh differently. Muscle always weighs more than fat. On Atkins, people appear to lose inches sooner than on other diets. Rejoice! But keep up your exercise routine too! Congratulations!

Yes. If you are losing fat, but gaining muscle then you could stay the same weight but get smaller since muscle weighs more than an equal volume of fat.
