Im currently finishing up on studies in wedding/party planning online. Im living in Maine because my mom was sick....I would like to move back to Colorado Springs and want to find an internship or employment with a wedding consultant. How do I go about doing this? Would it be professional to email and ask? I need some experience...

It would not be professional to email. Plan a few weddings for free so you can build up a resume, then mail it around and ask if they would accept a job application from you. In your cover letter, say that you will call them at such-such time on such-such date, then do it. Good luck! I did a little bit of this when I was a pro wedding DJ, and we could use more professional planners here in Maine, in case you would like to stay. Those Bridezillas - and their mothers - are murder!
