Lets say I was the son of a doctor. From an early age I was trained to be a doctor. This is the best life my father could provide for me. Then as a teenager I ran away and decided to make my own life. Soon afterward I get arrested for pan handling. I then get angry with my father for not teaching me the pan handling laws. While in jail I get into a fight and am badly injured. I then really curse him because he says he is a doctor and wont even come heal me. The story goes on and on and on getting worse and worse. And the funny part is all I have to do is return home and do what my father wants if I want to live the best possible life. And in GOD's case life everlasting.

People are just pig headed and silly by nature. That's why people say GOD is uncaring and helpless.

MoOO!

Because the evidence is overwhelming.

To start with, nobody can prove absolutely beyond doubt that, God does actually exist. What evidence do we have? Can you physically see him? Can you physically touch him? All we really have is the bible, which was written a long, long time ago, by various human authors. Some parts of the bible were written hundreds of years after Jesus - could you accurately relate a story after 20 years, never mind 200?! We all know that to err is human.

Secondly, what evidence (outside of the bible) do we have to show that God is a caring and helpful father? He does not seem to interefere with terrible atrocities, natural disasters or otherwise. Nor does he appear to intervene in the Africa situation, prevent war, cure cancer... Does he hug you when you are feeling sad? Protect you if you are attacked?

The problem is that we simply have no evidence of his existence, and therefore, intervention, at all. If God is out there, he has left us to look after ourselves.

Because they feel that the cause of their problems is God and the solution also should be given by God. They don't realize that they are reaping what they sow and so on....if they can see the things that God has actually cared for and helped them when they least expected it they would not think so. It is just a nature of a human being to blame someone else for their miseries and God is an available being for them, but his greatness and care can be known only when they truly accept everything in their life as a will of God then and only then even in times of distress one will not feel the strain on oneself.

I don't know, because God sent 'his' only kid to tie a torturous death when God could have chosen any other means by which to acheive the desired result....because God could stop the unecessary suffering in this world if God wanted to (assuming God is powerful enough)......because God commands his people in the pages of the OT to slaughter every man woman and child in the cities that they conquer.....because he is, according to the Bible, so jealous and he'd rather send billions of souls to eternal punishment simply for not believing in him.

I guess those are a few of the main reasons people would think that.

**Oh my God I just read the answers above and saw the good old, "we suffer so we can grow. Any good parent allows that...." Nonsense. Agreed, parents must allow their children to experience some pain in order to grow, but no parent who truly loves their kid would let them play in oncoming traffic and say, "oh well, it's free will, maybe he'll learn from this mistake." The absolute severity of unecessary suffering in this world is close to the same thing there. I'm not quite sure what some 2 year old kid who is starving to death and dying from AIDS is supposed to learn from that experience.

This kind of feelings will come when you have troubles and problems.. But how many people will think God when they are in happy situation.. None.. Because that is human tenden
so many people will call/think/pray god when they need help
If he is helpless how our lives are going smoothly..
Without his blessing we can do nothing.. Try to believe him
he will give sollutions for all problems.Believe God and then thik about him.. All your problems will solve wihout your concerns.. If you believe him he will never bother when you are seeking his help are not.. But he always kind and affectionate.. he is execusing all our SINs.Still he is giving oppotunity to live again..Actually we do not right to Say against God.. Do you how OXYGEN is coming Still no idea..Lot ofpeople still under research..At last one person discovered is that Trees releasing OXYGEN ..Living natures taking and releasing Corbon Dia Oxide..This corbon Dia Oxide trees are taking acceping.. so like that so many unnaturals things are taking care of by God.

1) They fail to understand that everything that happens in this life is only to prepare us for Eternity. So pain in this life that causes growth in our character that will result in eternal rewards is God being good, not uncaring.

2) They don't understand who God is, or what His mercy and holiness demand.

3) They are impatiant and demand that God fix things the way they want them to be fixed rather then trusting that he knows best.

I've been blessed to be healthy and a have a caring family. I can't ask for much more than that so my view of God is different from some.

However, many people endure tragedy and lead very difficult lives. It would be unfair of me to judge them having not been in the situation. If I was in their shoes, my view of God might be different. But overall, I think God creates the machine but he doesn't manipulate the levers. He believes in free will and we have to make decisions based on our own consciousness. Human beings are responsible for wars and poverty in this world. We like to blame God but God doesn't force people to go to war. I think God is a benevolent being and tries to cheat on our behalf to help us in times of distress but he can't cross the line because we still have to endure these battles on our own.

Regardless, I think people forget that God put us on this earth to serve others and not ourselves. We are all going to die so what does it matter if you become a billionaire if that money just sits in a bank and doesn't help eliminate poverty. We are all soldiers of God and we tend to forget that.

Maybe it's because there are over 10,000 different religions and he didn't really prepare us enough for this world. How are we supposed to find the 1 true religion? It is so hard and there is so much evil in the world now.

I personally don't feel that way about him though, I love him no matter what happens on this Earth. He is good and loves us and thats all that matters to me!

For some people their view on God is tied in with their views of their own parents.
If a person is abused, neglected or ignored as a child, their view on God tends to be one of some one who is distant or even someone not to be trusted.
