Have the place fumigated.

Don't use a 'fogger'. Don't use anything from a store. See if they'll accept a return on the stuff so you won't have wasted money!

Then go to a vets to pick up some proper treatment - you need something for your dog (like Frontline) and a spray for your house, sorted.

It will probably be harder to "get rid" of the fleas than it was to "get rid" of your dog. God I hate that term "get rid" when people have given up a dog that they should have made a commitment to for his life. Try the fogger, if that does not work, you may have to hire a professional pest control company. Please don't get another dog until you are ready for a commitment for his lifetime.

A fooger is ok, set it off with all the windows closed and leave the house for at least 4 to 6 hours. You may not get them all the first time since they may have laid eggs in the carpet. Make sure you vacuum and GET RID of the vacuum bag immediately! After a few days, repeat.

Use the fogger, maybe some carpet powder, and wash all laundry. Once you have fogged, be sure to vacuum very well to get all dead bugs and eggs out of the carpet and furniture.
