Many of the questions really should be researched on Google first... mainly because some simple answers could be gotten much more quickly (and accurately) if trying Google first. Other times the research might be confusing, and an answer here might be more helpful. I'm sure some do try Google first. I'm sure another reason they come here next is because there's so much information it's overwhelming.

As for recipes, some people want a recipe that has been tried, some just don't want the chore of having to sort through so many recipes that they can't decide. Personally, this would be the last place I'd look for a recipe. But I also have the patience to sort through recipes to find the right one.

Perhaps it is because the answers come from people who have experienced it, have an objective view, or have the knowledge to answer the questions that you may not find on the Internet. And it may also be quicker if you do not have the time with such engines . You may not have understanding parents or too scared to confide in, there are lots of reasons.

I agree that much of what people ask, all through "Answers" can be found on the Internet. But this is a more "social" way of getting answers, and ultimately I think that is what people are looking for.

They do this because they prefer to hear answers from people....not reports.

Many people ask for things like recipes that just aren't available online.

There was probably an answer to this question already online too, but it really doesn't matter. They are just questions...no need to get upset about it.

You can get receipes on the internet but you never know how they are going to taste. Most people wouldnt recommend something that they haven't tried and gotten compliments on. It kind of helps narrow down which ones to try.

Because people who ask questions here are not doing it for answers, they're doing it for attention. Google doesn't make them feel that they exist. That is what technology has done to us. Young girls will ask total strangers about their sex lives and not talk to their parents.
