that is a year and a half away. if you have the spare cash. go for it. If you end up changing your mind or put on so much weight you cant fit into it lol then you could always sell but if you don't get it and it is the dress of your dreams then you will never forgive yourself for not buying it.

Couple of things to consider....

1. Will the style be available in the future?

2. Your body type may change, will it work for different body types?

3. Is it a dress that you are over 90 percent sure you will like in 2009?

4. If it is going to go out of style... is it a style dress that can be altered to be smaller? (most dresses can be made smaller by up to two sizes)

5. Is the dress at a nationally recognized retailer? I bought my dress, and by the time the wedding week came I was 4 months pregnant... I had bought my dress at David's Bridal and was able to exchange it because I didn't have any alterations done yet.

Hope this helps and congratulations!!!!

If you absolutely love the dress, get it now... If you are the type of girl whos weight fluctuates a lot, I would consider that when you order the size, but you dont want to wait too long and then cant get the dress you want... Typically wedding dresses are ordered about 4-6 months in advance anyway, so I suppose you arent doing it TOO early... I ordered my dress about a year in advance....

Just remember to not get it altered until right before the wedding! After alterations your size cant change!

Good luck!

I would absolutely wait. You may change your mind as you see other dresses that come out between now and then. The wedding is still aways away. You may decide next year you want something totally different. Definitely do not rush into buying your dress. I have two friends who did and when the wedding got closer, they both changed their minds and bought different dresses. They were stuck with the original ones because you cannot return it once it's purchased.

Wait. By 2009 you might want a different style completely. I see a lot of wedding dresses for sale and that's a popular reason. Not weight gain, but a change in taste.

2009? That's over a year from now. I would wait because your body may change by that time. You want to make sure you still fit in the dress by that time. I just got mine, but my wedding is in March, 2008.

Unless you think you'll be losing or gaining a lot of weight, I would get it now. Styles change constantly, and the wedding dress you like now is almost sure to disappear by next season.

If you know that the dress you found is "the one" then heck yeah buy it now. My sister and were bored one day and walked into a wedding dress store just to look and she found her dress and bought it that day and she wasn't even engaged yet. You don't want to wait and then not be able to find the dress again.

You should get it now. Unless you have troubles with yo-yo dieting, dont listen to anyone who says your body will change. Its only a year and a half away. They can discontinue the style at any time. Get it now, keep it safe, and have the alterations done closer to your wedding.

Get it now if itis the right price. Just keep in mind then that you can't GAIN weight between now and the wedding. Losing weight would be ok b/c you can get the dress altered.
