I've been taking Ibuprofen painpills for the past 2 days & I'm still fealing weak & bruised-(my right upper arm had visable bruises on them but they're fading. (on wednesday me & a co-worker moved about 150 boxes of dumbells all day, (100 lbs. each box) from 1 pallet to another how do I cure the pain?

Yes the pain is from microtears in the muscle and they grow back stronger, and protien would be a good idea. However as long as you are not on other meds that you are not supposed to take ibuprofen you can continue to take it because it not only helps with the pain but it also reduces swelling which will make it heal faster. Also the fact that it has lasted this long should not be a concern. Usually after lifting weights I find (and other people have told me the same) that I am not REALLY sore until the second day after lifting. It will go away in a day or two more.

No pain no gain is a weightlifting term
the pain caused from lifting heavy things is from micro tears in your muscle fibres, as these repair they become larger and stronger than before
the growth in muscle
the only thing for it is to rest the muscle and perhaps getting enough protein so your body can repair the damage would be a good idea
you shouldn't continue to take pain killers as they can have adverse side effects

on the upside you need not join a gym
