DUDE! YOU said "as friends". You put yourself in the friend-zone, now it's going to be ten times harder to get out of there.
Now, PAY ATTENTION: The group dynamic is a good thing. You've got to get the whole group to love you. IGNORE the girl you want, make her work for your attention. Maybe get a female friend to hand on your arm and kiss your cheek, maybe say "why won't you go out with me?" - it's called "pre-qualification".
IF she shows interest, run with it. If not, then you walk away without embarrassment, having taken your shot like a man.
Write me privately if you need anything more.

Well I believe you're kinda stressed out about this one...
It seems like she's not really interested, but i don't know that girl, but I think you should call her and explain your intentions. Just say you like her and thought maybe you two could hang out together and then ask her if she's interested. She can't get away from this one.
If she's not ineterested, then she's a complete biatch and tell her you got some better things to do tonight than got with her to the movies.
Good luck.....(;

Considering that 1. She stressed on "just as friends", and 2. She preferred a "group of friends", she only likes you as a friend and feels slightly insecure about going to the movies with you only.
And since you dodged her question, she's probably now suspicious of you.
To that question concerning the group of friends, I think you should've answered that you're not good with a large group of people, and that you're much more confident with one person.

She probably is not interested in you Only as in friends. So maybe kinda back off because she rather hang out in groups rather then alone.

Just be sincere with her. If youlike her just tell her that. And that your mentiones that just as friends because you didin't want to push her or make her feel uncomfortable. Is she likes you, she'll understand. And tell her that you are not rying nothing wrong (for the first time) like sex.
Good Luck, and don't give up-

1. she may be nervous/inexperienced therefore unwilling to go on a "date" movie night
2. she is not interested and wanted other people there as a buffer and to cut the tension

you should have told her you wanted to go as a date. go as friends then tell her your intentions at the end of the night. say you really wanted it to be a date.

you should have like nicely said, well i thought we could go just me and you.. would that have been okay? and see what her reaction is like. if she does't like it suggest that you take a group of friends so atleast you go out together.

cancel on her, like wait till about 40 min before u r suposed to pick her up and call and cancel, then she will either chase you or forget the whole thing, my guess is she will forget the whole thing and u will be better off.
