A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise. - Proverbs 15:12.

Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. - Matthew 7:6.

Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities. - Psalm 141:5.

The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall. - Proverbs 10:6.

Only the person interested in advancing spiritually will accept spiritual advice and esepcially a call to repentence and truth-seeking without sneering. The scorner is not interested and is treatened by "calls to growth".

Here's something to contemplate:

Proverbs 26:4-5, "Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him. Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit."
